Judith L. Hayes

   Judith L. Hayes was born in 1945 in Lakewood, Ohio, and moved with her family to Oakland, California as a child in the early '50s. 

      Her first marriage in 1962 produced two children and ended in divorce in 1971. Then, in 1973, she married Mercer P. Hayes Jr, with whom she lived until his death in 2010.  

     Judith was an avid writer, with three published books and a world-renowned website called "The Happy Heretic." She also loved music (especially Elvis), poetry, photography, and nature. 

      She is survived by her two children, Deborah and Robert, four grandchildren, her older sister Marilyn, and her younger brother Robert.
