The Travels of "Meatball" the Black Bear

   The neighbors in a Glendale neighborhood really liked "Meatball" , so named because he kept coming back to one special garage where a woman stored them after making them.


   First the authorities tagged him (the little red tag on his ear) to prove it was the same bear. The neighbors took videos and photos and started a twitter account for him.

   Did you see the video taken from a second story window of a guy texting, and walking around a corner with "Meatball" coming the other way. He'll always remember that one every time he texts.

   Then he came back again after being transported a long distance, so they decided something had to be done.

   So a rescue organization in the Denver area offered to take him. They baited a trap with honey and bacon, and in he went. That was August 29, 2012. Now he's on his way to his new home.
