How could anyone driving a truck pulling a trailer full of veterans in a parade miss the flashing lights, the loud warning horn of an oncoming train?
One witness stated that the gate arm came down on top of some of the veterans and their wives as they began crossing.
We understand that some jumped to safety, but others were wheelchair bound or could not get out of the way in time.
Why would a driver attempt to cross a train track in spite of an oncoming train? Only a planned full investigation will bring out all of the facts.
