CCWD Raising our Water Rates...in a Recession?

   On Tuesday, December l8, 2012 at 9AM the Calaveras County Water District (CCWD), who collects taxes from every property owner in the county, is holding a workshop?

   This is a regular event with CCWD, hold a workshop, RAISE THE RATES!!!

   And if you notice they are holding it at the exact same time as the Board of Supervisors meeting. Coincidence?

   They are so secretive and always seem to schedule against the County Board of Supervisor meetings when they don't want anyone to attend.

   Will anyone go and protest their plans?  They spend so much money and are the richest organization in the entire county.

    They should lower our rates, not raise them. They don't care about us, just themselves.

    Isn't CCWD the one who refuses to film their meetings for the public to see?

    CCWD implemented a five year rate increase plan in FY 2007-08, which will result in an overall 80 percent increase in base water rates, and a 50 percent increase in wastewater rates. (Pg 142 Calaveras County Municipal Services Review, prepared for Calaveras LAFCO)
