Happy Holidays

 

As we enter the holiday season, spend time with our friends and family, and begin to plan for a New Year, I want to express my thanks to you and your family.  I am thankful for the faith you placed in me as your Congressional candidate and your new Congressman.  When I say that we would not have won without your support, I mean it.  In a race this close, the strength of our grassroots supporters made the difference.  Thank you.

I have now completed my Congressional orientation and am in in the process of hiring staff and setting up my District Office. I recently hired and would like to introduce my new Chief of Staff, Mini Timmaraju, who joins me after serving as Director of the Office of President Cecile Richards at Planned Parenthood Federation of America.  Our DC office address will be 1408 Longworth House Office Building.  I look forward to you stopping by when you're in Washington DC so that I may thank you in person.

I am also pleased to introduce my new District Director, Faith Whitmore.  Faith currently works as the Executive Director of the Francis House Center, one of Sacramento's most effective and recognized non-profits.  She previously spent 27 years as an ordained United Methodist pastor in the Sacramento region, and her deep ties to our community will help ensure that my work in Washington DC reflects the needs of our district.

I make no promises other than to do my utmost to hold true to my convictions and to allow the love of my country to guide me in my decisions.  I will do my best to work with my colleagues to find a path forward that restores the sense of fairness and opportunity that have always been cornerstone values of our great nation.  On behalf of Janine, Sydra and myself we wish you a blessed holiday season.  And once again, thank you for your support and faith in me.
