County's Long List of Lawsuits

Chair Gary Tofanelli spends quite a bit of time before each meeting reading off the list of lawsuits the County is fighting. At the top of the list is the many years of battles with the Nemees, who owned Trinitas, at least before the County caused them to lose the property due to foreclosure and subsequent bankruptcy. They have such nice neighbors.

Post Office Closures

The U.S. Postal Service announced that it had plans to close many processing centers this summer. If you notice, however, after they make these announcements, the UNION pays millions to spread scare tactic ads across the U. S. in order to get people to call their Senator or Congressman to vote against it and give them more money. Only  $11 Million this time.
We know lots of businesses who could use some of the money the Congress throws at the Post Office, who doesn't seem to have a clue how to run a business properly. Many believe they could lay off half of their workforce and still get the job done. And we hear many recommend that they turn the Postal Service over to a UPS or FedEx, both of whom are far more proficient and economically sound.

American Black Market?

With all the news surrounding the illegal black market on exotic animals in other part of the world, many are concerned that with the Wildlife organizations in the U.S. mainly used to kill the wild animals, that a black market could be cause in this country.
Counties like Calaveras even pay these Widlife killers to stand by so that if someone wants a wild animal like a bear or mountain lion killed, simply because they are afraid of them, that our wildlife could become rare and or extinct before long, and therefore cause a black market like the ones in other countries.

There is a lot of talk on Capitol Hill about doing away with the filibuster.
