Angels Camp Resident, Harriet Dallinger

     Harriet Dallinger of Angels Camp, passed away on May 15, 2012 after a brief illness.
     Mrs. Dallinger was born in New York City, New York on April 16, 1919. At the age of eight, she and her family moved to Los Angeles, where she remained for the next 67 years.

Coelho Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison

     According Barbara Yook, Calaveras County District Attorney, Richard Joseph Coelho, 53, was sentenced to 12 years in State prison for breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home in Valley Springs.
    On November 2, 2011, Coelho sawed a hole in the side of the home and went inside.  When the woman arrived home, he attacked and handcuffed her.

Calaveras County Women's Network June Meeting

          CCWN, (Calaveras County Women's Network is announcing they will hold their June meeting at Ironstone Vineyards on Six Mile Rd in Murphys on June 26, 2012 beginning at 5:30 PM.

Angels Creek Master Trail Again on Agenda

      The long-time and very controversial Angels Creek Master Plan is on the Angels Camp City Council's agenda for approval at Tuesday night's meeting, June 5, beginning at 6 PM.
    Yes, this is an election day meeting.

Calaveras Council of Governments Corrects Meeting Date

     The Calaveras Council of Governments is announcing that the meeting date released earlier was in error. The correct date of their next meeting is Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 5:30 PM at the Government Center in  the Board of Supervisors Chambers.
    The Wagon Trail Project (Hwy 4 widening) is still on the agenda.

Unemployment Down or Welfare Up?

   Recently District #1 Supervisor Gary Tofanelli was heard as saying that unemployment has decreased to 14.9% in Calaveras County.  However with no job growth in the county many are left to wonder if its simply that those whom have exhausted their unemployment benefits are now on welfare?

   The County of Calaveras is currently soliciting bids for  the Conflict Public Defender 
position.  Interested parties who submit proposals for this project must be  attorneys licensed to 
practice law in the State of California and meet the competency requirements of Rule

   Fresh Fridays Certified Farmers Market, Angels Camp runs June 1st, 2012 to October 26th, 2012 and is held at Utica Park, in downtown Angels Camp just off of Main Street. The market starts at 5pm every Friday evening and closes at Dusk.
