Car Crash on Jesus Maria Road

     After a relatively quiet day in Calaveras County, a rash of calls to CHP in the last half hour have occurred, July 7, 2012 at 8:55 PM in various areas of the County.
    An accident has been reported at Hwy 26 and Jesus Maria Rd. Apparently a solo vehicle rolled over on it's side and as the officer arrived, the driver was attempting to climb out of the vehicle.    The driver was taken to Sutter Amador Hospital with injuries.

Traffic Collision Near Spicer Reservoir in Calaveras County

   At 8:30 PM on Saturday July 7, 2012, CHP reports there has been a traffic collision on Spicer Reservoir Rd, about 1 1/2 miles off  Hwy 4 in Ebbetts Pass.
    We will update you on details as they become available. An officer has arrived on the scene. It is unknown if there are any injuries.

Calaveras News: Hathaway Pines Arrest

    According to the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department daily log, deputies were called out for a disturbance on Cedar Drive in Hathaway Pines yesterday, July 6, 2012.
   One person was arrested around 9:30 PM, per the log. No other details are available at this time.

Gwenola Ellen Beebe

       Gwenola Ellen Beebe, of Mokelumne Hill, passed away on July 1, 2012 at Sutter Amador Hospital.  She was 94.
     A native of Cortez, Colorado, Ms. Beebe was a homemaker and lived in Mokelume Hill  for 71 years
    She was preceded in death by her son James Beebe and daughter Sharon Larson and is survived by 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
     Memorial services were held Friday, July 6 at Mokelumne Hill Community Church.

Fish Without a License?

   Did you know that today, July 7 and September 8 are both FREE fishing days in California?
   While other restrictions apply, Califironia residents can fish without a license on both days, according to California Department of Fish and Game.

Near Head-On Near Milton

   CHP reports that a near head-on collision occurred on Hwy 26 near Milton Road  and Johnson where a dirt ramp was used for construction caused a hazard.

   Use caution in this area until problem is resolved.

Vehicle Loses Tire on Mountain Ranch Road

   According to CHP a solo vehicle had a collision after losing a tire on Mountain Ranch Road near Three M Road.
   CalFire and CHP were dispatched, and at last report they were looking for the tire that came off the vehicle. No one was injured.

    Be cautious of vehicles and pedestrians in the area.

    Supervisor Tom Tryon was actually furious that County Staff was working with Chair Gary Tofanelli to try and find a way to fund one more Sheriff's Deputy!  He could have cared less about US, the public needing more

        At the regular CCWD Board meeting on Wednesday, July 11, 2012,  the agenda has the usual $1.8 million plus in expenses on the consent agenda,  along with a resolution to submit delinquencies

Injured Deer on Hwy 26

      At around 9:30 AM CHP reported that there is an injured deer at the corner of Hwy 26 and St. Andrews in Valley Springs. Use caution while in the area.
   An officer is enroute to the scene.

Fireworks Still Being Reported in Calaveras County

     On July 6, 2012, reports of fireworks being set off are still coming in to the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department.
    One report was of aerial fireworks at the Copperopolis Elementary School and on Sanguinetti Court in Copperopolis and another on  Baldwin in Valley Springs.
    The log says no report taken after checking the reports out.
