CalFire vs Deer

  A Cal Fire truck hit a deer on Hwy 4 above Murphys on Sunday July 15, 2012  around 6:30 PM.

   The report says no injuries, but I don't think that's what the deer would say.
  

Hollywood and Broadway Actress Celeste Holm Passes

   Popular and longtime actress Celeste Holm died at her apartment in Manhattan today.  She was 95.
   A star on Broadway, she came to fame in "Oklahoma" and later won an Oscar for "Gentlemen's Agreement".

Traffic Collision at Tamarack and Hwy 4

    CHP reports that a truck and a motorcycle collided at Hwy 4 and the Tamarack frontage road around noon on July 15, 2012. No injuries were reported. A tow truck was dispatched.

    The code the CHP officer used indicated it could have been a suicide attempt.  We cannot verify that at this time.

   Use caution in the area.

Altercation at Murphys Hotel Bar

   A Calaveras County Sheriff's Deputy responded to a call of an altercation at the Murphys Hotel Bar on July 14, 2012.
   Indicated in the log was that this was possibly drug related. No indication of any arrest was noted.

Dog Injures Dog; Owner vs Owner at Lake Tulloch

   The Calaveras Sheriff's Department received a call to respond to an injured dog at Calypso Beach in Copperopolis.
    A residents dog was reportedly injured by another dog, and a verbal argument ensued. (not the dogs, the owners).
   The log does not indicate how it ended.

Poaching in Burson

   A resident called the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department and reported seeing a man with a bow go into the wooded area nearby.
   A Sheriff's deputy responded and arrested a man allegedly for poaching.

Boaters Paradise Has its Problems

   And then, of course, we have the usual problems on the Lakes in the County. There was one call of a boat being damaged, another reporting an aggressive boater, and one citation issued to a boater by the Calaveras County Sheriff's department.

   Such is the life in a County with a boaters paradise.

Gunshots in Different Areas Reported

    Gunshots were reported at Wimbledon Dr. in San Andreas, and on Railroad Flat Rd. in Railroad Flat on July 14, 2012. The Calaveras County Sheriff's Department responded, but the shooters were not located.

   This is not an uncommon report in all areas of Calaveras County on any given day. 

Dogs on the Loose in Wilseyville

   More animal related problems on Blue Mountain Road in Wilseyville, as the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department received a complaint of ongoing issues with uncontained dogs in the area.
   This was referred to animal control.

Where is Cowboy Tyrone and his Mare-eeta When you Need Them?

   Another report on July 14, 2012 of the cow on Dogtown Road was received by the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department saying that the same cow is now in someones' backyard.
   This was referred to animal services.

Dog Problems in Ebbetts Pass Growing

   Every day we hear about problems with owners who don't take care of or control their pets in Calaveras County.
