Remembering the Victims of the Aurora, Colorado Shooting
President Obama honors the victims of the tragedy in Colorado, those who knew and loved them, and those who are struggling to recover.
A report of gunshots heard in big Trees Village on Teton Rd and Karock in Dorrington was received by the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office around 10 PM on Friday, July 20, 2012.
Unfortunately this is an all too common occurrence in Ebbetts Pass, and from what we are told, most of it goes unreported because the public feels the Sheriff either cannot or will not do anything about it.
Every day we see reports from residents and business people all over Calaveras County, who call the Sheriff's Office to report suspicious vehicles or persons, disturbances of all kinds and loitering.
Does it seems that there are more of these reports now than there were 5 years ago, before the recession? Of course there are.
There are so many people unemployed, with nothing to do and angry, who just hang around, and eventually get into trouble with neighbors or businesses.
It's a good thing that the public cares enough to report anything that seems suspicious, because ultimately this can turn into a crime. And that's the Sheriff's job!
The Calaveras County Sheriff's Department responded to a call from Country Cliff's in San Andreas, that a male subject was laying on the ground by the picnic table screaming and yelling and cussing.
According to the log, the man was arrested by the Sheriff's deputy at the scene.
A resident on Ospital Road in Jenny Lind reported on July 20, 2012 that someone was trespassing on their property.
The Calaveras County Sheriff's department responded and filed a report. The trespasser was not present at the time of the officer's contact with the resident.
A burglary was reported at around 9 AM on Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Red Hill Dump in Vallecito. It had apparently occurred sometime during the time the dump was closed.
The Calaveras County Sheriff's Department responded but then put on the log "No Report Taken". We will update when details become available.
