Angels Camp Man Arrested for Manslaughter

Samual Ray Steele, of Angels Camp, was arrested for alleged manslaughter in the death of Michael Elliott on Tuesday, August 7, 2012.During the course of the investigation, police learned that Elliott and Steele had been drinking together at Claussen's Corner Bar on the night of July 23, 2012.
Grand Theft at Kiva Boat Ramp
A grand theft was reported at the Kiva boat ramp at Lake Tulloch Tuesday, August 7, 2012. The caller said that the tires and wheels were stolen from a boat trailer that was parked there.
The Calaveras County Sheriff's department took the report, but there is no indication of whether a suspect is known at this time.

Mountain Lion Reported in San Andreas
A woman on Marshall Ave in San Andreas reported that a mountain lion was in her back yard; that she could see it. That was around 1:30 AM on the morning of August 8, 2012.
A deputy was dispatched, but apparently the cat disappeared. They are looking for water this time of the year, and will brave coming closer to homes if necessary.

Disturbance on Cedar Drive in Hathaway Pines
A disturbance was called in to the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday August 7, 2012 around 10 minutes to midnight.
The party, on Cedar Drive in Hathaway Pines decided to file a report online, so no deputy responded.

Suspicious Vehicle Looking for Spotted Owls
A resident on Alpine Vista in Tamarack reported a suspicious vehicle around 9 PM on Tuesday, August 7, 2012.
The Calaveras County Sheriff's Office responded and found that it was a Forest Service employee spotting Spotted Owls.
Loose Goat at San Andreas Apartments
A resident called the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 to report that a grey and black goat wearing a collar was wandering around the San Andreas Apartments.

Illegal Shooting in West Point
And yet another report came into the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office about hearing gunshots on Lili Valley Circle in West Point on Tuesday, August 7, 2012.
The Sheriff's Office took the report, but no official action seems to have been taken. Resident thought there might be someone target shooting in the area.

Valley Springs Woman Arrested
On Tuesday, August 7, 2012, Kimberley Rae Berry, 42 of Valley Springs was arrested for allegedly being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor plus 2 warrants for a total of 6 offenses.
Berry was arrested on Crosby Ct. in Valley Springs by Calaveras County Sheriff's deputies and booked into the Calaveras County Jail.

Arrest in Angels Camp
Travis Edward Creamer, 23 of Angels Camp, was arrested on Main Street by Angels Camp Police on Tuesday August 7, 2012 for allegedly Infliction of Corporal Injury on a Spouse or Cohabitant and for Aiding in an Arson, both felonies, and for Obstructing or resisting an officer, a misdemeanor.
Creamer was booked into the Calaveras County Jail.
