Big APWU Convention in LA

   The American Postal Workers Union is holding their convention in Los Angeles August 20 to 24, 2012. Hundreds of union representatives from all over the country will swarm into LAX and spend  the next 5 days felling sorry for each other.

New Fire in El Dorado County

 This afternoon we received a report that a fire was being fought at Hwy 49 and Sand Ridge Road, just south of Diamond Springs in El Dorado County.

   Amador-Eldorado CalFire responded and now it is reportedly 35 acres and 60% contained.



Black Cow on Railroad Flat Road

   At 6:30 PM a caller notified CHP that there is a black cow on the side of the road on Railroad Flat Road at Prussian Hill.

   CHP was dispatched and they are enroute to take care of the problem. Be cautious in that area until the road is clear.

Collision at Hwy 26 and Milton Road

   At 4:42 PM on August 16, 2012  CHP got a report that there was a traffic collision at Hwy 26 and Milton Road.

   CHP is enroute There are no inuries reported. No other details are available at this time. Use extra caution in that area

Two Stockton Men Arrested

   On August 15, 2012 at approximately 11:39 PM Calaveras Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a residence on the 4700 block of Driver Road in Valley Springs for a possible burglary in progress.

Burson Woman Arrested

   Jacqueline Ann Rosofsky, 31 of Burson, was arrested on August 14, 2012 by Calaveras County Sheriff's deputies at Burson and Carol Lane in Burson.

   Rosofsky was arrested for alleged Possession of a Controlled Substance, a felony, Possession of paraphernalia, a misdemeanor and for Violation of Parole, a felony, on a local warrant.

   Rosofsky was booked into the Calaveras County Jail.

The Wye Fire Near Clearlake at 8000 acres

  Although the Wye fire, which is actually two fires, are being investigated as possibly human caused, containment is now at 80 % and no homes have been lost.

   This fire has destroyed 8000 acres near Clearlake.

Report of Credit Card Used Online Without Authorization

   A resident in Murphys called the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 to report that someone was using their credit card to make online purchases.

   A deputy took the report. It is not known if there is a suspect or not at this time.

Mountain Lion in Downtown San Andreas

    The Sheriff's Office has issued a warning to residents that a large mountain lion was seen in downtown San Andreas around 11:30 PM on August 14, 2012.

   According to the report, deputies were dispatched to the San Andreas Cemetery on Pixley Avenue for a report of a person walking around with a flashlight.
