Traffic Hazard at Main Street and Reed's Turnpike

      AT 7:24 PM on September 7, 2012, a traffic hazard was  reported in Copperopolis at Main Street  and Reeds Turnpike.

   CHP has been dispatched to the scene. A vehicle is causing the hazard. Use caution in the area until cleared.

Stafford Fire

This fire started about 2 30 PM on September 5, 2012 and was human caused. It is still under investigation.

  It is in the Shasta/Trinity National Forest

16 Complex Fires

   The 16 Complex Fires off of Hwy 16 in the Rumsey Canyon area now total 12,500 acres and is only 20% containes.

   22 Bulldozers and 10 helicopters and 1268 firefighters worked on this fire today.

Fire Near Ukiah- The Scotts Fire

   September 7, 2012 at 6 PM:  A fire 8 miles east of Ukiah west of Scotts Valley Rd. in Lake County is now 450 acres. Manadatory evacuations are in effect for Blue Lakes.'

  CalFire's Mendocino Unit are in charge of the fire at this time. This was was reported today September 7, 2012 around 1:10 PM.

Fire on Hogan Dam Road

  Fire units are responding to a grass fire on Hogan Dam Road in Valley Springs. 2 engines and 2 water tenders have been dispatched. The cause of the fire is not known.

85 MPH...Yes, It's True!

   A toll road 41 miles long in Texas has posted a speed limit of 85 MPH on the road, making it the highest speed limit posted in the U.S.

   Texas does have other roads of posted limits that are 80 MPH. So if speed is your thing, you know where to move.

BLM Releases Yearly Updates to Mineral Cost Recovery Fee Schedule
 
Washington, D.C. – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will publish in the Federal Register on Monday, Sept. 10, the final rule updating the fees it charges to recover costs incurred in processing documents associated with oil, gas, coal, and solid mineral activities. 

Burglary in Burson

   A burglary was reported on Keystone Way in Burson on September 6, 2012. Calaveras County Sheriff's deputies responded.

     The residence had been broken by taking out a swamp cooler  to go through a window. Several items were taken from the residence, per the resident.

   It is not known if there is a suspect in the case.

Clayton Resident Arrested

   Daniel Lloyd Steinhoff, of Clayton, was arrested on September 6, 2012 on Hwy 49 for alleged Burglary and Receiving Stolen Property over $400, both felonies.

   Steinhoff was booked into the Calaveras County Jail by Sheriff's deputies.

  

Arrest for Exhibiting Firearm

     Aggrapini Medina Gallvan, (39) of Washington state, was arrested on Setpember 7, 2012 for allegedly  Exhibiting a Firearm in the presence of a peace officer, a felony.

   Gallvan was arrested on Stanley Road in Valley Springs and booked into the Calaveras County Jail.

Bagley Fire Near Big Bend

   USFS reports that the Bagley Fire, near Big Bend is now 75% contained. The total acres burned is 45, 917.

Dogs Chasing Deer in Sonora

    A call was received by a Sonora resident on Snell Ave. that two dogs are running loose after deer and birds near Upper Sunset Dr. A rotweiller and another dog are both loose.

   A unit was dispatched to the scene at 9:26 AM on September 7, 2012. Use caution if in the area.

Arrests Made in Copperopolis

   Jeffory George Bay, (52) just listed as a California resident, was arrested in Copperopolis at Obyrnes Ferry Road and Black Creek on September 6, 2012 for alleged Violation of Parole, a felony by the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office.

   Also arrested on alleged Possession of burglary tools and illegal paraphernalia, misdemeanors and violation of Probation on an out of state warrant was Theresa Marie Jessen (40) of Santa Rosa.

    Bay and Jessen were booked into the Calaveras County Jail by Sheriff's deputies.

Morning Talk About the President

   The early morning talk shows on CNN, MSNBC and CNBC were all chirping about the Democratic Convention and President Obama's acceptance speech last night.

Traffic Hazard on Tuolumne and Black Oak

   Horses are running in the road causing a hazard at Tuolumne Rd and Black Oak Rd in Tuolumne, so if you are headed to the casino, be careful in that area. CHP is enroute.

Hazard in Valley Springs

   A traffic hazard was reported to CHP at 7:50 AM on September 7, 2012 at the intersection of O'Rielly and Kirby in Valley Springs.

    A vehicle struck a dog, which is injured. CHP is enroute to the scene. Use caution in the area until cleared.

Prince Harry's Being Sent to.....

   After Prince Harry's most recent escapade in  Las Vegas, his father and grandparents were not happy, as everyone knows.

    He probably will not be playing strip billiards where he's going. He's on his way to Afghanistan for 4 months to fly helicopter for the British Army.
