Fire Near Placerville
UPDATE: September 16, 2012 at 11 AM: The Rock fire is now 45 acres and 60% contained.
Shots fired on Burson Rd.
A resident called the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office to report they heard three shots coming from Burson Rd and HIllvale Rd in Burson at around 9:50 PM on September 14, 2012.
No one was cited or arrested.

Two Reports of Explosion in Avery
Two different residents called the Sheriff's Department on September 14, 2012 around 10:35 PM to report they heard an explosion.
One report came from Grey Mare and the other on Blackbird Lane. It was not determined what caused the explosion.

Disturbance at Glory Hole Marina
About 12:10 AM on September 15, the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office noticed a verbal disturbance at the New Melones Lake Marina at Glory Hole.
Apparently the deputy counseled the parties and they agreed to stay quiet.

Red Cow on Paloma in Valley Springs
CHP received a call that there is a traffic hazard near the corner of Paloma and Rose in Valley Springs. A red cow is in the roadway.
We'll call out Cowboy Tyrone. He's got nothing better to do, anyway.

Traffic Accident on Hwy 49 in Jackson
September 15, 2012 at 4 PM: A traffic accident was reported at Hwy 49 and Main Street in Jackson at 3:52 PM.
CHP and an ambulance are enroute. Three vehicles were involved, including a white RV, a maroon sedan and a silver pickup.
The Amador County Sheriff's Office has been notified. Use caution if traveling in that area.

Car Burglary at Natural Bridges
The Calaveras County Sheriff's Department responded to a call on September 14, 2012, of a burglary of a car at Natural Bridges parking lot off Parrotts Ferry Rd. in Vallecito.
Apparently the window was broken out of the car. No indication given of what was removed from the car.

Three Males Stripping House
The Calaveras County Sheriff's Department received a call from a resident on Rippon Road in Valley Springs on September 14, 2012, that three males appear to be stripping a house nearby.
It isn't clear what the Sheriff's Department did, if anything. If we receive any information we will post it.

Burglary in Valley Springs
A burglary that had occured when the resident on Driver Rd. was absent in Valley Springs was reported on September 14, 2012, to the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department.
Apparently the home had been broken into. It is not know at this time if there is a suspect.

Trouble if Moving in....
One caller to the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department on September 14, 2012, wanted to report that if they move into a certain residence there may well be a confrontation.
Of course, no address was given so a deputy was not involved at that point.

Sleepers in Suspicious Vehicle
When a Calaveras County Sheriff's Deputy inspected a reported suspicious vehicle on September 14, 2012 at around 8:30 AM on Campo Seco Dr. in Campo Seco, he found people sleeping inside.
At least one person was arrested at the scene, and booked into the Calaveras County Jail.

Temporary Taxes:
This is the temporary tax to fund education and public safety initiative amendment.
It increases taxes on earnings over $250,000 for seven years
It increases sales tax for everyone in California to 7.50% for four years, up .25%.
If it passes, they say that spending reductions to education programs will not occur in 2012-13.

Animal in Road in Valley Springs
September 15, 2012 at 8:35 AM: CHP is enroute to a report of an animal in the roadway at California and Rose St in Valley Springs.

Fire in Banning
UPDATE: September 15, 2012 at 8 AM: Called the Truck Fire, the fire near Banning has moved only slightly and is now 30 acres and ks 40% contained.
A 20 acre fire on Old Banning/Idylwild Rd and Euky Duct Trail in Banning is now 25% contained..
