Peter Racz: "Murphys Manure"

No! We won't do what's right for
our "Mrphys Manure" customers.
You can't make us merge/"
A member of the public from the Valley Springs area, who attends nearly all of the Board of Supervisor meetings has a way of coining a phrase when he addresses the Board members.

At the most recent meeting, where Supervisor Callaway pushed for yet another bailout, this time for her supporters on the Board of the Murphys Sanitary District, Racz spoke against the idea.

Stating that taxpayers in other areas should not have to pay for the incompetence of Murphys Sanitary's Board, he said "this is Murphys Manure,

T.O.T. continued

A week ago the Sierra Sentinel emailed all the County Supervisors and hopefuls
and asked for their position on the T.O.T. initiative.

Of course we know Steve Wilensky's position.

So far only 1 "hopeful" has replied to the Sentinel.

So why wouldn't the other's state their position?

Our Empty Chair for Mr. Wilensky

One Question for Angels Camp City Council

September 11, 2012:   We have just one question for the Angels Camp City Council, who apparently was not consulted before Michael McHatten, City Administrator fired Craig Hadley yesterday.

"Is McHatten's contract an "at-will" contract and does our City Council have the guts to do their job and investigate the actions taken by McHatten?"

Wilensky and Callaway's Insane Ideas Grow?

We have just received word that Supervisor Wilensky and Callaway are still proposing to raise the TOT tax (that's the tax on people who are tourists and stay in a motel or B&B in Calaveras County) 4%.

Why?  Because they are trying to get their favorite organizations who support their elections and re-elections MONEY.  Many voters do not realize what Supervisors or other elected officials will do to win re-elections and how they repay the organizations whose members assist them.

Endorsement Against Sales Tax--For Ami Bera

In a somewhat surprising move, the Sacramento Bee has given its endorsement to Ami Bera over Dan Lungren for Congress and recommends against the Prop 30 sales tax increase.

We tend to agree with these decisions. Dan Lungren is apprearing old and tired. Anything is possible. Could Bera actually win after running against Lungren for what, the third time?

Proposition 32 Auto Insurance Prices

Calfifornia Proposition #32 is an allowance for insurance companies to base their prices on whether or not a driver has a history of continuous insurance coverage.

Is this because those without insurance are a bigger risk to the insurance companies? Are they raising prices on young people who just bought their first car?

Apparently there is a part of this law that lowers premiums for those who have had continuous coverage without lapses, so this is a tentative YES.
