Theft From Vehicle in Copperopolis

  A resident on Arrowhead in Copperopolis reported to the Calaveras Sheriff's Office that their car had been broken into and that the stereo and battery had been stolen.

   At this time, there is no indication of a suspect.

Stolen Vehicle Located in Arnold

  A Calaveras Sheriff's deputy located a stolen vehicle on Lilac in Arnold on November 7, 2012 and made an arrest.

   Melissa Leann Smith, 37, of Modesto was arrested for alleged Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and or Vessel, a felony.

   Smith was booked into the Calaveras County Jail.

Sonora's 2nd Saturday Art Night

    This coming Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 5 to 8 PM there will be a 2nd Saturday Art Night in Downtown Sonora on Washington Street.

    As the nights get dark earlier, we want to welcome the public into our cozy shops, restaurants and galleries. This Saturday more than 13 different musical acts, over 100 visual artists and an author share their talents throughout downtown Sonora.
