Only White Males Need Apply....

   Yesterday, the Republican House of Representatives picked the 19 Committe Chairs for  2013.

    Every one is a white male, no women, no minorities.  Anyone surprised? Will it ever change? Doesn't look like it.

   9:30 PM: An animal has been reported on Hwy 49 at Burns Rd in San Andreas. This is near the intersection of Gold Strike Rd.

   Use extra caution in the area until cleared.

Hostess Execs Get Bonuses

  As part of the liquidation of Hostess in Bankruptcy court, wht judge has allowed $1.8 million in bonuses to executive officers of the company.

   The President says its to get them to stay throughout the liquidation process, which could take a year.

   Meanwhile the employees, who began striking as a result of previous bonuses issued at the company, have lost their jobs.

Traffic Accident on Hwy 88

   CHP reports an accident occurred on Hwy 88 at Fiddleton Silver Lake Rd in Volcano, Amador County.

    This is on a blind curve and a Subaru is blocking one lane.  No injuries have been reported.

   Use extra caution if driving in that area of Amador County.

Texans NFL's best?



 

Despite only narrowly beating some bad teams lately, the Texans remain the NFL's best team, among many trackers. Of course, out here in California, we may have a bit of disagreement with that.

Noise Disturbances Reported on November 28, 2012

   Disturbances of Noise reported to the Calaveras Sheriff's Office around Calaveras County on November 28, 2012 included a horn being blown on Toyanza Drive in San Andreas for 2 hours, a verbal altercation at La Contenta Village Mart in Valley Springs, and a verbal altercation on Littlejohn in Copperopolis.

   No one was arrested or cited in any of these incidents.

Letter to the Editor.....Thank You

   Dear Sierra Sentinel:

   I want to publicly thank my wonderful daughter, Tammy Hebrard and her husband Charlie, for all the years of caring love they gave to my cousin Evelyn Parisotto, who recently passed away.

   They saw to her daily needs for many years, and Tammy wrote the beautiful obituary you see printed in the Sentinel.

VW Jetta vs deer vs fence

    UPDATE:  A tow truck didn't arrive on the scene until after 10 AM.

    At 8:50 AM a solo vehicle, a VW Jetta hit a deer and then a fence at the Pine Grove/Volcano Aquaduct in Amador County.

   No injuries were reported. CHP in enroute. Be cautious if driving in that area.

Two Mokelumne Hill residents arrested

   On November 28, 2012 Christine Elizabeth Harmon, 31 was arrested for alleged being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, a misdemeanor, a misdemeanor and  Child Cruelty

Warm Temperatures Bring Rain; Snow at Very High Elevations

   The fact that this series of rainstorms are more of the warm "pineapple express" type means that even at 3500' early this morning, it was 50 degrees.

   The chains required sign that CalTrans posts yesterday was clear up at Bear Valley. At least the resort is getting some snow for ski season.

   It is expected that yet another storm is headed in tonight, and for the next 3 days you can expect rain off and on.

  6 AM November 29, 2012: Be extra careful on Poole Station Rd. if you use it for your  communte. A vehicle hit a tree and it is still being cleared.
