California Fairs Sustainability Act passes committee

       The Senate Bill 741 by Senator Cannella of Salinas, has passed the Senate committee and will not head to the floor of the California Senate.

   The bill, which is co-authored by Assemblyman Bigelow, combines funding sources for fairs throughout the state and will keep the County Fairs operating into the future.

   It also eliminates payments for fairs except for those related to personnel and provides that the District Agricultural Associations will have title and control the personal property of the fair.
