August 8, 2013 @ 10 AM: Near Banning, the Silver Fire off Hwy 243 has now destroyed 10,000 acres and several homes since yesterday at 2:05 PM when it was first reported.
There have been 5 injuries, 4 to firefighters and 1 to a civilian. There are currently 6 air tankers and 13 helicopters plus 1000 firefighters on the lines, working on the fire.
This fire is only 10% contained and the cause has not yet been determined.
