Traffic Hazard in Vallecito

  At just after 7 PM CHP received a report of someone walking in the middle of the road at Hwy 4 and Angels Road in Vallecito.

   Use caution if driving in that area.

Sacramento Sales tax of 8.5%

   In Sacramento shoppers pay a sales tax of 8.5% on purchases. City Hall increased it another 1/2 % to bring an infusion of cash into their coffers.

Oh, yes, the Water Bond of 2014

   The Water Bond of 2014 won't pass here in little Calaveras County

Suspect in 10-year-old's kidnap AB 109 release

   The kidnap of a 10-year-old found in Woodland Hills is now an AB109 release, out since July of 2012.

   With a record for assault, battery and kidnapping with arrests going back to 2002, he was released to easy prison overcrowding.

Traffic Accident in Valley Springs

   At 9:22 AM a traffic accident was reported at Hwy 26 and Silver Rapids Rd in Valley Springs. Reportedly a man is sitting on the side of the road.

   CHP is enroute to the scene. It is not known if there are inuries.

No Chain control this morning

  CHP has no chain controls on either Hwy 88 in Amador County or on Hwy 4 in Calaveras County.

   The temperatures are expected to reach the mid 70's later today. A beautiful spring day for the Sierras.
