Strike Likely for SEIU workers in Santa Clara County

  SEIU Local 521 has 9000 members, most of which are full-time workers. 96% of those who voted (3200) said yes to a strike if the union doesn't get a deal with the County.

  It is the largest public employee union in Santa Clara County.

Homeowners finally putting homes on the market....

   Well, in the Bay Area, at least, where the median sale price for all homes was $562,000 in July, up 33.5% from a year earlier.

DOW loses 200 points today

   August 15, 2013:  The DOW Industrial Average closed down 200 points today after disappointing earning reports and mixed economic data.

   Industrial production was unchanged in July, but consumer prices edged up .2%. NASDAQ and the S&P were also both down 1% today.

CalTrans Announces Road Closure on Hwy 49

  August 15, 2013: Hwy 49 is closed from old Hwy 49 through Amador City to Valley View in Sutter Creek. CHP is on hand for safety during the closure.

   This closure is due to Caltrans construction.

Traffic Hazard on Upper Moran Rd.
