Leila Fowlers brother Pleads not guilty

    September 11, 2013:  The 12-year old who has been accursed of fatally stabbing his 8 year old sister in Valley Springs earlier this year, pleaded not guilty during a closed court proceeding today.

   The boys' family is supporting him, hoping all the facts will become known. He has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder.

More Gun Laws on Table

   All of the proposed laws to try and prevent gun violence are on the table for passage in this last week of California's legislature.

   We're all hoping that all of them pass, and that California becomes the strictest state in the nation.

Did Brad Pitt really cut his hair?

   The long scruffy blonde look that Brad Pitt has shown for so long may be gone, according to some rumors circulating that he has to cut it off for his next movie, "Fury".

Vandalism Report in Mountain Ranch

   A report of vandalism was received by the Calaveras Sheriff from a resident on Michel Rd in Mountain Ranch on September 10, 2013.

   Apparently the house and trees were vandalized.  The Sheriff took no report.

Arrest behind Treats in San Andreas

   The Calaveras Sheriff received a report that there was a suspicious person behind Treats General Store in San Andreas.

   The deputy arrived and arrested the male.  Well, if it isn't a crime, it ought to be!

Suspicious woman reported in Murphys

   No, it wasn't Supervisor Callaway!!  A couple of reports were called into the Calaveras Sheriff on September 10, 2013 that a suspicious female was walking down the road, yelling obscenities.

  The Sheriff took no report. But perhaps Supervisor Callaway offered her a home in Forest Meadows.

Burglary at Burson Donuts

  A burglary was reported to the Calaveras Sheriff September 10, 2013 by Burson Donuts on Hwy 12 in Burson.

    The air conditioners and wiring were taken after breaking in. The Sheriff took a report.

 

Altercation over "poop"

   There was a disturbance call to the Sheriff from Bear Mountain Senior Apartments on California Street in San Andreas on September 10, 2013.

   The verbal altercation was over a dog defecating on the neighbors front porch. No report was taken.

Petty Theft at Mountain Retreat

   A Petty theft was reported on September 10, 2013 at Mountain Retreat Co. on Cypress Point Drive in Arnold.

   A deputy took the report. There is no indication if they knew who the thief was or what was stolen.

Who reported the Napper??

   The Calaveras Sheriff's office was notified of suspicious person, a man who was lying by the side of the road at Hwy 49 and Lombardi Drive in Mokelumne Hill on September 10, 2013 around 1:10 PM.

   A deputy responded and was told he was just taking a nap. No report was taken.

Traffic Accident at Hwy 49 and Hwy 120

    September 11, 2013 at 11:12 AM:  A traffic accident occurred half way up the Moccasin Grade at Hwy 49 and Hwy 120.

   No injuries were reported, but it is reportedly  blocking the roadway. CHP is en route.

Mt. Diablo Fire Update

    September 11, 2013:  As of 8:15 AM the Morgan Fire at Mt Diablo is 3133 acres and 70% contained. All evacuations have been lifted and demobilization of resources has begun.

    The cause has not yet been determined.

Clover Fire in Shasta/ Update

   As of 8 AM September 11, 2013 the Clover Fire is 7,012 acres and 40% contained.  80 structures have already been destroyed and 30 damaged. 300 more are threatened.

   Evacuations are still in place. The cause has not yet been determined.

Big Rig Rolls on Hwy 49 near County line

Rim Fire Update September 11, 2013

    September 11, 2013 at 8 AM:  The total number of acres burned in the Rim Fire is 255,146 or nearly 400 square miles.

   80% containment is still listed because they say spotting continues along the uncontained lines of the fire.

Hwy 4 and Hwy 49 Intersection nightmare

     September 11, 2013 at 8 AM:  Without any police support, construction workers are trying to direct traffic at the intersection

Head-on Crash at Hwy 120 in Escalon

    September 11, 2013 at 6:30 AM:  CHP are still at the scene of a head-on traffic collision that occurred at around 5:19 AM on Hwy 120 and Victory Ave in Escalon.

   Apparently a black Toyota and a grey Honda were involved in the collision and both victims were transported to local hospitals via ambulance.  Tow trucks are now en route to clear the Hwy.
