Moundbuilder? Mental Illness?

This is how the mentally ill
begin their mounds!
UPDATE:  After speaking with a psychology major in the Bay Area, we find that yes, this can be a symptom of a much more serious mental problem. More to come.

Do we know what mental illness it is that causes some people to build mounds all around their property.  Is it paranoia?

If they use debris, trees, leaves and also garbage to build it with, what are they afraid of?  Someone out there must know what this paranoia is called. thanks.
