Joan Rivers remains on Life Support

   According to her daughter Melissa, Joan Rivers remains on life support. She says she is grateful for all the well-wishes and cards her mother has received.

Commercial vehicle on fire in Twain Harte

   September 2, 2014 at 2:10 PM:   A commercial vehicle is reportedly on fire on Pine Lake Drive in Twain Harte.

   Cal Fire and CHP are responding to the scene.

Traffic Accident in Valley Springs

   September 2, 2014 at 2:05 PM:  A traffic accident has been reported at Hwy 12 and Lime Creek Road in Valley Springs.

   CHP and other emergency personnel have been dispatched.

Car Fire at Lake Tulloch

   September 2, 2014 at 2 PM:  Fire personnel and CHP have been dispatched to a car fire at Hwy 108 and Tulloch Dam Road.

   No other details are known at this time. Driver and passenger attempting to put the fire out themselves.

Calaveras Fair welcomes new rules suggestions

Another Hit and Run reported on Hwy 99

  September 2, 2014 at 12:40 PM:  According to a caller, a big rig truck came into the lane and hit their car at Bradbury and 99 NB in Turlock and then took off.

   It was reported that the truck said Bob Hart on the side. CHP was notified and is now en route.

Hit vehicle following alleged Hit and Run vehicle

   September 2, 2014 at 12:30 PM:   A truck that was hit by a passing semi-truck at Liberty Rd and Hwy 99 SB, had its mirror knocked off reported it to CHP and proceeded to chase the truck they described as West Valley Farms.

    The truck exited the freeway on Jahant. No CHP has been assigned to this incident yet.

Calaveras Grand Jury System Broken????

   For years, we have heard complaints about the Calaveras Grand Jury system being corrupt, political or biased for personal reasons.

  UPDATE:  September 1, 2014:  Is CCWD issuing the $500 a DAY in fines fairly? Or are some people their little PETS? We are making it public!!

Indecent Exposure in San Andreas

   On September 1, 2014 a report of Indecent Exposure was made to the Calaveras Sheriff's Office that had apparently occurred on George Reed Drive in San Andreas.

   No report was taken by the Sheriff's Office.

Theft at San Andreas Mini-Mart

   On September 1, 2014 a theft was reported at the San Andreas Mini-Mart on St. Charles Street. The Calaveras Sheriff's Office did not make a report. 

San Andreas man Arrested

  On August 30, 2014 David Nicholas Strahorn (44) of San Andreas was arrested  at the Shell gas station for alleged Possession of a Controlled Substance and Revocation of Command Supervisor, both felonies and for Possession of Unlawful Paraphernalia, Obstructing or resisting a Peace Office, Destroying or Concealing Evidence and Possession of a Switchblade in the vehicle, all misdemeanors.

   Strahorn was booked into the Calaveras County Jail.

Arrest at White PInes Park

  On August 29, 2014 Calaveras Sheriff's deputies arrested Stacie Lynn Radford (47) of Arnold at White Pines Park for alleged Possession of a Controlled Substance, a felony and for Obstructing or Resisting a Peace Officer, a misdemeanor.

   Radford was booked into the Calaveras County Jail.

Eric Cantor gets a job

   Eric Cantor, a Republican House of Representatives member, who was voted out in the primary earlier this year, will become Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Moelis and Company when his term ends in January 2015.

   Will Supervisor Spellman do as well when his term ends?

Arrest at Camanche

  On  August 29, 2014 Calaveras Sheriff's deputies arrested Dylan Ray Mills (20) of Burson at the South Camanche main gate for alleged Violation of Probation, a felony.

   Mills was booked into the Calaveras County Jail.

Possession for Sale Arrest in Arnold


   On September 1, 2014 Calaveras Sheriff's deputies arrested Stacy Rae McBride (32) of Mokelumne Hill, on Dunbar Road in Arnold for alleged  Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale, a felony.

   McBride was booked into the Calaveras County Jail.

Violation of Probation Arrest

    On September 1, 2014 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office arrested John Allen Logg of San Andreas on Mountain Ranch Road for alleged Violation of Probation, a felony.

   Logg was booked into the Calaveras County Jail.

Angels Camp man arrested

  On August 31, 2014 the Angels Camp Police department reports they arrested Mark Fleming (50) of Angels Camp at his home for alleged Infliction of Corporal Injury on a Spouse, a felony.

   Fleming was booked into the Calaveras County Jail.

Happy Camp Fire in Klamath National Forest

Happy Camp Fire hard to stop!
   September 2, 2014 at 8:15 AM:   The Happy Camp Fire, in the Klamath National Forest, is now 66,335 acres and only 15% contained.

   Evacuations are in place for the Hwy 96 area of the Seiad Valley. The smoke streaming in the west is from this fire we are told.

Holiday's Over--Back to WORK??

   Having a hard time getting back in the workday groove this morning.  All across the county, everyone agrees that this is a sign that summer is nearly over.

   Temperatures are expected to drop back into the 80's later this week, as is expected in September. But will we get some rain soon? We all hope so.

Fire in Sonora

   September 2, 2014 at 6:30 AM:  A fire has been reported at Cedar Road and Cabezut Road in Sonora.  Fire personnel are en route to the area.

   This is near Greenley Road, just like the fire reported last evening. We are not sure if it is a structure fire or a vegetation fire.
