Major Injury Accident on Hwy 4

   September 18, 2014 at 6:15 PM:  A traffic accident with major injuries has been reported on Hwy 4 at Hunt Road in Copperopolis.

   An ambulance is en route. CHP is at the scene. Use caution if in that area.

Traffic Accident in Valley Springs

  September 18, 2014 at 6:20 PM:  CHP is at the scene of a traffic accident at Hwy 12 and Cedar Street in Valley Springs.

        An ambulance has been dispatched due to injuries.   Two vehicles were involved in this accident.

Angels Camp man arrested for Battery

   On September 17, 2014 at approximately 8:30 PM Calaveras County Sheriff's deputies arrested Robert Brian Browning (54) of Angels Camp on North Baker Street in Angels Camp for alleged Battery and Threatening with the intent to Terrorize, both felonies.

   Browning was booked into the Calaveras County Jail.

Trucks Hauling unsafe loads

    September 18, 2014 at 11:30 AM:  A caller reported to CHP that a trucking company is hauling unsafe, oversized loads in the Murphys/ Douglas Flat area.

   CHP dispatched a unit to the area. Reportedly load is blowing out of the truck.

NFL may suspend players, but.....

   Very interesting that the NFL is now suspending some NFL players for alleged domestic abuse, but why should they mind.

   The two most recent announced yesterday will still receive their $600,000 plus per WEEK pay.

The real Problem with Calaveras Sheriff's Office

  Since the June election, where Gary Kuntz won another 4 years in office at what? $130,000 plus benefits, we have heard of more and more corruption, especially involving women.

   The real problem is that the Calaveras Sheriff investigates the Calaveras Sheriff's Office, so nothing is likely to change. The Grand Jury, which is alleged by many to have planted personal friends, is no better and has absolutely no authority. So what has to happen?

CHP involved in traffic accident in Sonora

   UPDATE at 9:50 AM: Five CHP units are still at this location.

   September 18, 2014 at 9:15 AM: Five CHP have been dispatched to a CHP patrol car is involved in a traffic accident that occurred at Hwy 108 and Washington Street in Sonora.

   No injuries were reported. Accident actually happened on the shoulder of the road. A tow truck has been dispatched, but there may not be any room for it with all the CHP units there.

Bush Family split in Georgia

   The elderly George H.W. Bush has endorsed Republican David Perdue for an open Senate seat in Georgia after Perdue flew to Kennebunkport to ask him for it.

   His son Neil Bush is endorsing the Democratic candidate Michelle Nunn. Perdue is the CEO of Dollar General. Nunn was the Executive Director of George Bush's Points of Light Foundation.

Today is Scotland's Chance for Freedom

  After nearly 300 years of British control, bloody wars and wanting to be free, today is the opportunity for the Scots to decide if that is what they really want.

   Prime Minister Cameron  was shown a poll with only 30% wanting to be free when he allowed the vote to go forward.  Last weekend you could see his stress level as he begged the Scots to stay with the UK. We'll know soon what they want. Even 16 and 17 year olds are voting.

Ukraine's President asks for US help

   The President of Ukraine has officially requested help from President Obama and the US Congress to fight the Russian backed insurgents there.

   Will we get involved in yet another war with the ISIS terrorists in Iraq and Syria, and still be able to assist the Ukraine. There seems to be no end to the wars of the world.

Happy Camp Fire

   September 18, 2014:  The Happy Camp Fire is now 68% contained and the total acres burned so far is 125,788 at an estimated cost of $80 million.

   This fire was caused by several fires after a series of lightning strikes on August 12, 2014.

Traffic Accident at Hwy 99 and Beckwith

   September 18, 2014 at 8:30 AM:  CHP are still at the scene of a 3 vehicle accident on Hwy 99 at Beckwith  in Modesto.

   An ambulance and tow truck are responding to the scene.

Allow extra time on Hwy 4

   September 18, 2014:   Caltrans is working on repaving Hwy 4 between Douglas Flat and Murphys this morning. Allow extra time for delays. Be careful.

   UPDATE:  We just learned that the USFS has increased the total acreage burned as of 6:30 AM on September 18, 2014 at 70,994 with still 5% containment.
