Rain clouds hang low in mountains

   November 22, 2014:  This is the exact weather that out cedars, pines, firs and sequoias need and love. The low-hanging clouds and rain are resting, as if on the branches of each tree in Ebbetts Pass.

   If only we can get a good snow and keep the moisture coming for the next 6 months. That way, we might just pull out of this drought.

Tree Branch on Hwy 49

  November 22, 2014 at 1:50 PM:  A tree branch has been reportedly fallen into the lanes of Hwy 49 at Rawhide in Sonora.

   CHP is en route to the area. Use extra caution if headed that direction.

Man lost at Big Trees State Park

   UPDATE at 12:35 PM:  The lost man has found his wife with the assistance of the fire department.

PIckup off road through fence in Copperopolis area

  November 22, 2014 at 12:10 PM:  A Toyota pickup reportedly ran off Hwy 4, overturned, went through a barbed wire fence and is now stuck on a big rock not far from Pool Station Road near Copperopolis.

   CHP is en route. No injuries have been reported. Drive carefully!! The roadways are wet and slick.


Traffic Hazard in Burson

   November 22, 2014 at 11:30 AM:  A traffic hazard has been reported on Burson Rd near Olive Orchard in the Burson area.

   CHP is en route,  but it isn't yet clear what kind of hazard is being reported.

I just want a little drink....

     Gail L. Conrado entered into rest in Sonora on November 19, 2014.  She was a native of Calaveras County, living in Melones as a child and in Angels Camp for the remainder of her life.
