CalFire: Burning ban now lifted

    CalFire has issued a press release that the burning ban is now officially lifted as of December 8, 2014 at 8 AM.  No permits are required and no special hours are designated at the present time. You still must call the burn number for your area to see if it is an allowed burn day.

   The usual rules burning rules apply. Josh White issued the press release for Tuolumne, Calaveras, Eastern San Joaquin and Eastern Stanislaus counties.

   In Calaveras call 754-6600, in Tuolumne call 533-5598 and in San Joaquin and Stanislaus call 877-429-2876.

The "Jungle" Homeless Camp dismantled

A nearby creek was so polluted by feces and trash, a sanitation
crew had to be called in to the area.
   Over 350 people once occupied a stretch of this wooded area near homes in the Silicon Valley, called the "Jungle".

   Yesterday, officials moved in and cleared

Car runs off road at Camanche

   December 6, 2014 at 3:15 PM:  CHP is at the scene of a vehicle that ran off Camanche Parkway North and Curran Road on the Amador County side of the lake.

   An ambulance and tow truck are responding to the area.

Bass Lake accident fatal

      December 6, 2014 at 12:30 PM:  CHP has reported that a Jeep that overturned at Bass Lake and went down a 100' embankment, has resulted in a fatality.

   A bicycler apparently saw the Jeep and reported the accident to the CHP around 11:30 AM.  This occurred about a mile from the Marina.

Man dies at new Calaveras County Jail

    UPDATE:  Information has leaked out that it is possible this prisoner was in the third day of withdrawal from something. Was no doctor allowed to attend him?

NY Grand Jury to hear yet another cop killing case

  It was announced yesterday that another killing by a rookie officer in Brooklyn, NY will be given to the Grand Jury. 

   Apparently, the investigation showed that the man was also unarmed and "totally innocent".  Most at totally skeptical of the Grand Jury system in America after several "No charges" verdicts have been released where cops are involved.

Small Earthquake strikes Central Coast

   A 3.9 earthquake stuck near Hollister around 6:30 PM on Friday.  No reports of damage or injury were indicated.

James Kane of Angels Camp

   James Edward Kane passed away at Sonora Avalon Care Center on December 3, 2014 at the age of 87.

Rescue attempt of journalist fails

   Apparently the US made an attempt to raid and rescue the journalist who had been threatened with death earlier this week.

   The attempt failed, according to his sister and Luke Somers was killed in the raid.

Calaveras Pontiff Ponte holds another prayer session

   On December 8, 2014 Calaveras Chair Pontiff Ponte will hold another prayer session for all of us horrid sinners who believe women should have rights, prior to the Board of Supervisors meeting.

   The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday December 8, 2014 at 9 AM. More on the meeting agenda later today.

Mustang run off Hwy 88

   December 6, 2014 at 9 AM:  A Mustang has reportedly run off Hwy 88 at Silver Drive, near the Silver Lake Campgrounds.

    No injuries have been reported. A tow truck is en route to the area.
