Changes at Castle & Cooke

   We just received an announcement from senior management over California's Castle and Cooke regarding Saddle Creek in Copperopolis:

  "Castle and Cooke has decided to make a change in the Copperopolis division,with Dave Haley moving into a consultant role to focus his efforts on Calaveras County project entitlements for Castle & Cooke.

   Our Saddle Creek Real Estate and Golf Club as well as the Copperopolis Town Square projects will continue to be the responsibility of onsite management and overseen by senior management I Bakersfield."

AMA Youth Sports crab feed

   The Boosters of Angels Camp is sponsoring the AMA Youth Sports Crab Feed at Frogtown on February 14, 2015. Tri-tip will also be offered.

   Dinner is at 7 PM in Mark Twain Hall. All you can eat for $35 per person with a no host bar, door raffle and 50/50 prizes.  Also there will be live music by "Copper Holdings".  Call 736-0334 for tickets and information.

Hazard: Horse on Appaloosa

   January 19, 2015 at 2:45 PM:  A brown horse has been reported out on Appaloosa near Hunter just below Angels Camp.

    Use extra caution in that area until CHP can clear the roadway.

Traffic Collision on Hwy 26

  January 19, 2015 at 9:15 AM:  CHP has just cleared a traffic collision on Hwy 26 at North Shelly Road near Linden.

   One person was taken by ambulance to a hospital for injuries.

  

OPED: Bullets, Hoods and Badges?

  Yes, on this Martin Luther King Day, it feels like the country is more divided than ever and has slipped back into the 1960's era.
 
The SierraSentinel.com believes that exposing the truth is the best form of protest against corruption of all types, including racism.

   We will continue to expose those who hold bullets more dear than their children, those who behave as KKK, with or without hoods, and the Dirty Cops who believe their badges can cover for anything they do,  whenever we are made aware of it.

Traffic collision in Valley Springs

 UPDATE:  Roadway is now clear.

  January 19, 2015 at 6:50 AM:  Another traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 26 at Silver Rapids in Valley Springs.

    Emergency vehicles are responding, including an ambulance. Drive carefully as there is fog in many areas of the county.

Woman hit by vehicle in Copperopolis

   UPDATE:  This accident has been cleared by CHP.

  January 19, 2015 at 6:45 AM:  Heavy fog in the area is possibly responsible for a traffic collision involving  a woman being struck at Obyrnes Ferry Road and Copper Cove Drive in Copperopolis.

  CHP and an ambulance are responding to the  scene. Slow down in the fog!
 

Martin Luther King Day

   If you get an extra day off today because of Martin Luther King Day, enjoy it.

Patriots vs Seahawks in Superbowl 2015

   The Seahawks overcame a 16-0 halftime deficit to win the Playoff fame against the Packers in overtime.
  
Then the Patriots easily beat the Colts, so the 2015 Superbowl will be Seahawks vs Patriots. Can the Seahawks make it back to back Superbowl titles?
