Vehicle hits pedestrian at Airport

   February 4, 2015 at 2:25 PM:  A vehicle hit a pedestrian on Airport Boulevard near the Columbia Airport.

    Three CHP, fire and ambulance are responding to the scene.

Le Jazz comes to Bret Harte

   Hot jazz is coming to Angels Camp on Sunday, February 22, 2015. Brought to you be the Calaveras Arts Council, Le Jazz will perform at 3 PM at the Bret Harte High School Theater.

El Dorado Supervisors meeting

   On the agenda for the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors is approval of a 20 parcel subdivision adjacent to El Dorado Hills, averaging 1 acre each in size.

   This may be where people are moving from the Bay Area, since Calaveras supervisors are so adamantly anti-job, anti-growth and anti-homes. They must have smart Supervisors.


Big rig and Toyota collide on Hwy 99

    February 4, 2015 at 12:40 PM:  A red big rig, thought to be carrying fuel, was reportedly leaking after a collision with a silver Toyota on Hwy 99 near the Tuolumne Blvd offramp in Turlock.

   The entire freeway was blocked until they discovered the big rig was carrying milk. No injuries have been reported.

Fire Department responds to car fire

   February 3, 2015 at 10:40 AM:  A car fire reported at Hwy 99 and Crows Landing Road in Modesto put the fire department into quick action.

   After only a few minutes they were at the scene and had the fire out. Use extra caution in the area until CHP gets the area cleared.

Lodi teacher wins $10,000

  A teacher in Lodi who entered a contest has won $10,000 for her class. Her entry asked "How can I teach technology without technology?"


Robin Williams estate goes to court

   Robin Williams wife of less than 3 years has already gone to court to fight his children over the estate he left.

   Williams lived in Tiburon. The wife says his children have already removed some of his possessions,  especially jewelry, without the court establishing ownership.

Sequel to "To Kill a Mockingbird"

   Harper Lee, the secluded author of "To Kill a Mockingbird" will have the sequel to the book released later this year.

   Over a million copies have already been ordered by bookstores nationwide. The original was made into a movie by the same name starring Gregory Peck.

   "Go Set a Watchman" is the name of the new book.

Wish you'd bought Disney?

   When Disney (DIS) was $27 a share, did you consider purchasing shares, but held back due to the recession?

    Big mistake!  Disney earned $1.27 a share on revenues of over $13 billion for the first quarter. Stock is selling for around $101 per share, up 8% just today.  DUH!!!

How many women does it take to rob a donut shop?

   It seems that it may be 5 women, walking into a donut shop in Salida yesterday, placed and changed several orders to distract the owner, asked to use the bathroom and then left.

   After they left, the owners purse, containing around $1000 in cash and a ring worth over $10,000 was gone. One woman had been carrying a large bag. The incident is on video.

SUV and commuter train crash

   Apparently a woman who was trying to beat the train across the tracks not far from NYC last night, got out of her SUV to check when the crossguard hit the back

Death of Candlestick Park

   Although it is hard to believe, today construction crews begin the demolition of Candlestick Park in San Francisco.

   A new hotel and shopping center are planned for the site. Of course, the 49ers are safely tucked into their new stadium in Santa Clara.
