Henry J. Sweeney of Angels Camp

  Henry J. Sweeney died at his home in Angels Camp on March 11, 2015. He was 82.

   Born on September 24, 1932 in Brawley, Henry enjoyed helping others

Angels Camp City meeting at Firehouse

   Tonight, March 12, 2015 at 6 PM the Angels Camp City Planning Commission will hold a hearing (just a technicality) to force 34 landowners to BAE (Business Attraction and Enhancement) Down-Zoning.

   Should be an interesting meeting, depending on how many have the courage to speak. If you are going, take your video camera. They tend to deny everything said verbally. Believe me, we know!!

UPDATE: Smokey is now in the Lake Tahoe area

Smokey's owner lost their home, so Smokey lost his home too.
He's a grey and white neutered male about 2 years old.

Traffic Hazard on Hwy 49

  UPDATE at 12:10 PM:  The roadway is now clear per CHP.

Calaveras Supervisors Ponte and Edson refuse to apologize

   Both Calaveras Supervisor Pontiff Ponte (who was Chair and led the County into a lawsuit) and Supervisor Pastor Cliff Edson, who is the only other responsible Supervisor left, refused to apologize to the voters.

Foreigner Unauthorized

   The Calaveras County Fair has just announced that a rock group called Foreigner Unauthorized will be performing at this years event.

   They will perform on the lawn stage on May 16, 2015 at 8 PM. The concert is free with the price of admission.

  

"Breaking Bad" house roof gets 'Pizza'd'

   In season three of the hit series "Breaking Bad" White threw pizza on the roof of a house in New Mexico.

  The current owners of that house say that fans are now throwing pizzas on their roof, and they don't think its cool; and its a waste of good pizza.

Car Overturned and thru fence in Burson

   March 12, 2015 at 8:35 AM:  CHP is at the scene of a traffic collision at Ospital and Southworth in Burson, where a car went through a fence.

   The vehicle overturned, but fortunately, no one was injured. The ranch owner was notified of the fence damage and a tow truck has been dispatched. Use caution in that area.
