Traffic collision on Hwy 49

   April 7, 2015 at 4:35 PM:  Another traffic collision has been reported in Jamestown; this one at Hwy 49 and Hwy 120.

   A grey Hyundai and a red Chevy Blazer are involved. An ambulance is en route to the scene.

Head-on Collision in Jamestown

   April 7, 2015 at 4:30 PM:  A head-on collision has been reported at Hwy 59 and Red Hills Road in Jamestown.

   Three vehicles are reportedly involved. It isn't yet known if there are injuries.

Car runs off Hwy 26

   April 7, 2015 at 4:25 PM:  A car has run off the road and into a ditch at Hwy 26 and Heinemann in Valley Springs.

   A tow truck has been dispatched. No injuries have been indicated.

Murphys Sanitary District meets

   On Thursday April 9, 2015 the Murphys Sanitary District will hold a regular Board meeting at 10 AM on Big Trees Road in Murphys.

    On the agenda are evaluations and a Hwy 4 Corridor report.

Another Twain Harte car off the road

   April 7, 2015 at 3:50 PM:  A white Ford Explorer ran off of Hwy 108 and Confidence Road in Twain Harte. The truck is off the road and down an embankment. The woman can't climb back up the hill.

   No injuries have been reported. No CHP is currently available to be assigned to this collision.

Yukon runs off road in Twain Harte

   April 7, 2015 at 3:45 PM:  A white Yukon is reportedly off the road at East Avenue and Tuolumne Road in Twain Harte.

   It isn't known if there are injuries. CHP is en route to the scene.

Collision on Hwy 99 and Hwy 12

   April 7, 2015 at 3:40 PM:  One car crashed and then reportedly another car crashed into them at Hwy 12 and Hwy 99 in the Lodi area.

   CHP is en route to the scene. It isn't yet known if there are any injuries.

Car runs off road and hits tree in Pine Grove

   April 7, 2015 at 3:35 PM:  A small car ran off the road and hit a tree at Pine Grove Volcano Road and Aquaduct Road in Pine Grove.

   The caller reported that the road needs to be plowed.  County plow crews have had trouble keeping up with the snow today. CHP and a tow truck are en route. It isn't yet known if there are injuries.

Pickup spin-out in Copperopolis

   April 7, 2015 at 2:45 PM:  A white pickup reportedly spun out and ended up in a field off Obyrnes Ferry Road and Reeds Turnpike in Copperopolis.

   CHP resdponded to the scene. No injuries were reported.
  

Black dog again reported in Acampo

   April 7, 2015 at 3:05 PM:  Another report of a black dog in the center divide of Hwy 99, this time at Peltier in Acampo.

   Earlier a man had been reported trying to catch the dog at Jahant.  Apparently he was unable to catch the dog.

Traffic collision in Vallecito

   April 7, 2015 at 3 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Parrotts Ferry Road and Moaning Cave Road in Vallecito.

    A tow truck has been dispatched. CHP is still en route to the scene. Apparently it is on a bad corner. No injuries have been reported.

CHP and tow trucks busy all day -- Pickup spins out off Hwy 4

   April 7, 2015 at 2:55 PM:  A black pickup has slid on the road, spun out and then hit an embankment at Hwy 4 and Horseshoe in Copperopolis. CHP is still at the scene.

   The pickup was blocking the roadway, but CHP helped move it onto the side.

 

Pickup hits pole in Burson

   April 7, 2015 at 1:15 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Burson Road and Hwy 12 in Burson, where a blue Ford pickup hit a telephone pole.

   An ambulance and other emergency responders are en route to the scene. Avoid the area if possible.

   UPDATE:  A two truck has been ordered for one vehicle.

"Mess out there" at Yosemite

   April 7, 2015 at 12 Noon:  CHP has been receiving multiple reports that on Hwy 120, just outside Yosemite National Park "there's a mess out there due to so many vehicles stuck in the snow without chains".

   A CHP unit is en route to the location. Multiple tow trucks have been requested. Don't go to Yosemite today!

Planning Commission gets Training? TONIGHT!

   The Angels Camp City Planning Commission is having a workshop with the City Council at 4 PM on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Angels Firehouse.

   It does not say Closed Session, so the public must be allowed.

Man chasing dog on Hwy 99

   April 7, 2015 at 11:55 AM:  CHP has received a report that a man is chasing a small black dog on Hwy 99 near Jahant in the Acampo area.

   He is currently in the center divide, but has been unable to catch the dog so far. CHP is en route.

Collision in Oakhurst

   April 7, 2015 at 11:50 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 41 in Oakhurst. A woman passenger is pregnant and in pain.

  An ambulance and other emergency personnel are en route to the scene.

Huge pileup at Fishcamp

   April 7, 2015 at 11:40 AM:  CHP has received a report that there is a huge pileup of cars and a bus on Hwy 41 at Fishcamp.

  There is apparently so much snow, its hard to see and cars are blocked in place.

Traffic Hazard on Arnold Byway

   April 7, 2015 at 11:20 AM:  A traffic hazard has been reported on Arnold Byway, just above Arnold, off Hwy 4.

   This could be related to the chains requirement at that location. CHP is en route.

Cars stuck in snow in Twain Harte

   April 7, 2015 at 10:45 AM:  CHP has received a report that several cars are stuck in the snow at Twain Harte Drive and Marquis Drive in Twain Harte, blocking the roadway.

    Plows don't seem to be able to keep up with the heavy snowfall. Stay off the roads if possible.

It's official: Rand Paul is running for President

  The second Republican to announce their bid for President in 2016 was Rand Paul early this morning.

  Most don't believe he has a chance, but the Tea Party loves him.

Snow at Forest Meadows

  April 7, 2015 at 10:30 AM:  Although Caltrans does not indicate chains are yet required there, it is snowing heavily at 3000 - 3500' on Hwy 4, Forest Meadows.

   The highway is covered and apparently the plows haven't been directed down that far yet. Be extra careful if you have to go out today.

Big rig falls off Hwy 4 bypass

   April 7, 2015 at 9:55 AM:  A big rig reportedly fell off the Hwy 4 bypass in Stockton and landed on Wilson Way that runs underneath, according to a witness.

  CHP and an ambulance are en route to the scene.

Big Rig runs off Hwy 12

   April 7, 2015 at 8:30 AM:  A big rig with a 53' trailer carrying 30,000 lbs. ran off Hwy 12 and down the side of the embankment at Hwy 12 and the Mokelumne River.

   Traffic will be one lane until they can pull the truck up onto the roadway. No injuries were reported.

Party City going Public

  Party City, the largest party supplies retailer is planning on taking the company public. They expect to raise around $372 million in their IPO.

   They will be offering 21.9 million shares at between $15 to $17 a share.

Chains Required on Hwy 4 and Hwy 88

   April 7, 2015 at 8:30 AM:  Chains are now required on Hwy 4 just above Cabbage Patch for all vehicles without 4 wheel drive and snow tires.

   Chains are also required above Peddlar Hill on Hwy 88 in Amador County.

Car hits Hwy 99 center divide

   April 7, 2015 at 7:15 AM:  A vehicle has reportedly hit the center divide at Hwy 99 and Cherokee Lane in the Lodi area.

   Several vehicles have pulled over to assist and there is debris in the roadway. CHP and an ambulance are en route to the scene. Slow down on the wet roads.i

Vehicle rollover in Escalon

   April 7, 2015 at 7:10 AM:  A white car has reportedly overturned and is on its side at Hwy 120 and Main Street in Escalon.

   Emergency personnel are en route, including an ambulance. Be careful if headed for that area.

Car loses tire on Hwy 99

  UPDATE at 7:15 AM: A vehicle that hit its brakes spun out and slid across all lanes of Hwy 99 behind this hazard. It isn't yet known if there are injuries in this collision.

   Two CHP units are en route to the scene.

Car runs off Hwy 49

   April 7, 2015 at 6:25 AM:  A solo vehicle has reportedly run off Hwy 49 at Varia Ranch Road near Drytown.

   Several vehicles have stopped. CHP and other emergency workers are en route to the scene. Use caution if headed that way.

Snow in the mountains

  April 7, 2015 at 6:15 AM;  While it isn't yet snowing in the Hwy 4 or Hwy 108 mountain areas, it is expected to be around a foot deep in the higher elevations of Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties.

   Drive carefully as the heavy rain is probably going to be heavy during your commute to work. Carry chains if you are planning on heading for the mountains.
