Yuko "Betty" Keck Farrow

  Yuko "Betty" Keck Farrow of San Andreas (and more recently Stockton) passed away unexpectedly Sunday April 26, 2015 in West Sacramento.

     Yuko immigrated to the United States

Calaveras County sues Calaveras Medical Collective (POT) already

     Calaveras County for some reason could not come to an agreement with the Calaveras Medical Collective (one of two pot store in Valley Springs) through their Planning Director, so they are now in a court battle with them.

   On the Closed Session Agenda for May 12, 2015, the county says they cannot have a pot store within 1000' of a head start preschool. That's odd, because liquor stores and DRUG stores,  much more serious dangers, are allowed.

Traffic Collision in Glencoe

   May 6, 2015 at 3:30 PM:  A traffic collision involving tow pickups was reported on Hwy 26 at Stormy Lane in Glencoe.
   CHP is at the scene. No injuries were reported.  Use caution in the area until cleared.

Grass Fire in Tracy area

   May 6, 2015 at 1:50 PM:  A grass fire was reported at I-205 and the I-5 connector on the right side.

   Emergency fire responders are en route to the area. Use caution if in that area.

Rescue at Don Pedro

   May 6, 2015 at 1:15 PM:  Emergency responders are setting up for a rescue for a person over the side at Don Pedro Reservoir. They need either a boat or some way to get the  injured person

Traffic Collision in Atwater

   May 6, 2015 at 11:45 AM:  Another traffic collision was reported at Hwy 99 southbound at Winton Parkway in Atwater.  An ambulance and sweeper have been dispatched. There is bark and other garden material spread all over the lanes.

   Traffic is backed up quite a way, since there is another accident at Hwy 99 south just below that area.  Be extra careful if headed in that direction.

Black Toyota flips several times on Hwy 99

   May 6, 2015 at 11:40 AM:  A black Toyota reportedly flipped several times after colliding with a red Volkswagen on Hwy 99 and Landers in the Turlock area.

   An ambulance is en route to the scene. Use extra caution in that area until cleared.

Black Oaks taken out?

   The training for the CalFire Heavy Equipment Operators continues today, May 6, 2015. They are apparently removing all black oak trees from the entire area where they are working on Bear Mountain.

   How are they getting away with this?  Where is the Valley people and the Calaveras Coalition now? 

     The same thing is happening in the forest areas, where Supervisor Edson is promoting NO dogwoods, NO wild lilac, no cedars, firs or pines allowed.

   They are all a fire danger and besides, LA needs the water they take now.

Bicyclist struck in Mariposa

  May 6, 2015 at 11:20 AM:  A bicyclist is reportedly lying in the roadway after being struck by a car at Triangle and Westfall in Mariposa.

   CHP and an ambulance are en route.  Use extra caution in that area until cleared.

Car vs. Pedestrian in Jamestown

  May 6, 2015 at 11:15 AM:  CHP is at the scene where a car reportedly struck a pedestrian on Victoria Way at Hwy 108 in Jamestown.

   Fortunately, injuries are minor in this collision.

Overturned car in Pine Grove

   May 6, 2015 at 11:10 AM:  A car has reportedly overturned on Ridge Road in Pine Grove.

   CHP, an ambulance and a tow truck are responding. Use extra care if in the area.

Uh-Oh! Breaking up Calaveras Sheriff's pals Homeless Camp!

   May 5, 2015 at 10:30 AM:  It seems that someone got tired of the homeless camp where we were just told at least one of Calaveras County Sheriff Kuntz' favorite pals lives and shoots in San Andreas.

   Deputies are trying to break it up now and have called in code compliance and an ambulance to haul at least one person away that they describe as 5150.  Uh, Oh! The Sheriff could get real mad!!

Frank 'Frankie' Joe Brady of San Andreas

   Frank 'Frankie' Joe Brady passed away on April 22, 2015 at his home in San Andreas.

Fire in Jamestown

   At approximately 7 PM on May 5, 2015 Cal Fire responded to a call of a brush fire  in the 18000 block of Ninth Ave in Jamestown.

   The cause of the fire was undetermined, but it was extinguished quickly with only a spot of brush vegetation burned.

Warning to Calaveras property owners - land grab!!

      Another plan, this one called the Calaveras County Regional Bicycle, Pedestrian and Safe Routes to School Plan is trying to land grab from any property owners along Hwy 49 in Calaveras County.

Dog reported on Hwy 108

   May 6, 2015 at 8:20 AM:  It was reported to CHP that there is a dog running on Hwy 108 at the Soulsbyville exit.

   Use caution until authorities can remove the dog from the roadway.

Collision on Waterloo Road

  May 6, 2015 at 8:15 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported involving a white bus and a black Chrysler at Waterloo and Report near Hwy 99 in Stockton.

   CHP is at the scene and a tow truck is responding. No indication of injuries has been given. Use caution if in that area, as it is blocking the roadway.
