"There's just bad people in the world!"...

   ...said the owner of Special Memories Zoo.

   Four baby goats were stolen and a baby joey kangaroo had been taken out of its mothers pouch, leaving the mother kangaroo injured.

   Dona Wheeler, who owns the zoo, is adding security cameras to deal with the criminals. We know just how she feels. Anyone who harms an animal in any way should be locked up and the key thrown in the river.

Fire reported in Jenny Lind

 UPDATE at 3:10 PM:  The fire is nearly contained, but they are watching in case it jumps Jenny Lind Road.  A bulldozer has been requested. Extra engines have been canceled.

Crash on Hwy 4 in Copperopolis

   UPDATE:  Two tow trucks were required for this crash. Two CHP are now at the scene.

Fire in West Point

  May 10, 2015 at 10:15 AM:  CalFire has responded to a report of a fire at Winton Road and Lily Gap Road in West Point.

   A structure fire had spread into the brush.  CalFire got the spread contained. They are still handling the structure fire.

Hit and Run in Valley Springs

  May 10, 2015 at 10:10 AM:  A hit and run was reported at Hwy 12 and Hwy 26 in the Valley Oaks parking lot in Valley Springs.

   Apparently a motorcycle and a Nissan Altima. CHP is en route to the scene.

Burglary in Valley Springs

   On May 9, 2015 a resident on Sparrowk Road in Valley Springs reported a burglary had occurred.

   A report was taken by the Calaveras Sheriff's Office.

Arrest for Cruelty to Elderly Dependent

   On May 9, 2015 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office arrested Andrew Wayne Burton (29) at his home on Hogan Dam Road in Valley Springs for alleged Cruelty to an Elderly Dependent, a felony and for outstanding warrants.

   Burton was booked into the Calaveras County Jail.

Giants vs Marlins today at 1 PM

   The SF Giants lost to the Miami Marlins last night at AT&T Park, even though Bumgartner struck out 10 batters in 5 innings.

   Today's game starts at 1 PM on CBS. The Giants are currently in third place in the National League West with 15 wins and 16 losses. The Dodgers are in 1st place.

German Shepherd on Hwy 120

   May 10, 2015 at 8:30 AM:  Use caution if on Hwy 120 in the Escalon area. A German Sherpherd is reportedly running on the roadway there.

   CHP and animal control have been notified.
