Truck hits tree in Arnold

   UPDATE:  The injured person has been taken to Mark Twain Hospital. Injuries are determined to be minor.

Motorcycle down in Plymouth

   May 12, 2015 at 4:10 PM:  A traffic accident involving a truck and a motorcycle has been reported at Hwy 16 and Hwy 49.

   An ambulance is en route to the scene. CHP is at the location. The roadway is blocked, so be extra careful if in that area.

Traffic collision in Lockeford area

  May 12, 2015 at 3:30 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported at Trethaway and Kettleman, just off Hwy 88 near Lockeford.

   A silver Hyundai is overturned onto it's roof. A tow truck is en route to the scene.

Traffic Crash in Rancho Calaveras

   May 12, 2015 at 1:45 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported involving a red and a white pickup at Hwy 26 and Vista Del Lago in Rancho Calaveras.

   No injuries were reported, but there is glass in the traffic lanes. Be extra cautious in that area.

   Sine the NFL announced they were suspending Tom Brady for four games and fining the Patriots $1 million, Brady is the most talked about football player in the country.

   He is also the highest selling player in the NFL, with sales of his officially licensed sports products doubling since the announcement.

     On Thursday, May 14, 2015 the Murphys Sanitary Board meets at 10 AM for their regular  meeting in Murphys on Big Trees Road.


Lawnmower causes fire

   On May 11, 2015 at around 5:30 PM CalFire was called to the 7000 block of Tapadero Street in Copperopolis, where a grass fire was reported.

   Caused by a riding lawnmower, 6 engines, a helicopter and a hand crew were dispatched to the scene. I was extinguished at 4 acres.


Fire in Copperopolis

  On May 11, 2015 CalFire was called to a fire on the 2000 block of Little John road in Copperopolis for a vegetation fire.

   This turned out to be a small debris pile that was being burned during restricted hours. The pile had proper clearance and a water source. The homeowner was educated on burn hour restrictions.

Verizon is buying AOL

   It seems that Verizon telecom is in the process of buying AOL for about $ 50 a share.

   That makes the deal worth around $4.4 billion.  AOL is the first company to bring America online, and Steve Case says this is a perfect deal for them.

"You've Got Mail"!!! AOL stock is up around 17% this morning.

Pickup into tree in Mokelumne Hill

  May 12, 2015 at 11 AM:  A brown Chevy pickup has reportedly hit a tree at Hwy 26 near Ponderosa Way in Mokelumne Hill.

   CHP is at the scene. It isn't yet known if there are injuries.

Hay truck smoking after crash in Turlock

   UPDATE at 10:15 AM:  Fulkerth is blocked at this time. One person was pinned in their vehicle. Both vehicles rolled onto their sides in the crash.

US Marine chopper missing

   On May 12, 2015 a US Marine helicopter was reported officially missing while assisting with earthquake victims in Nepal.

   There were eight apparently on board at the time.

Volunteer to help with Rim Trail

  On May 16, 2015 volunteers are requested to meet at the US Forest Service station in Hathaway Pines at 8:30 AM to plan the day for clearing the Rim Trail.

   They have requested you wear long pants, in case they run into any poison oak along the way.

Burglary in Copperopolis

   On May 11, 2015 a resident on Steeplechase Drive in Copperopolis reported that a burglary had occurred.

   The Calaveras Sheriff's Office took a report of the incident.

Two semis collide in Lodi

   May 12, 2015 at 9:45 AM:  Two semis have reportedly collided at Hwy 12 and Thornton Road in Lodi.

   CHP is at the scene.  No injuries were reported, but use caution if in that area.

Medications stolen in San Andreas

  On May 11, 2015 it was reported that medications had been stolen from a location on Mountain Ranch Road in San Andreas.

    The Calaveras Sheriff's Office took a report.

Assault using Vehicle in Valley Springs

   On May 11, 2015 a resident on Rose Street in Valley Springs reported that they were assaulted with a deadly weapon, a vehicle.

   The Calaveras Sheriff's Office took a report on the incident.

KIA crashes into trees in Escalon

   May 12, 2015 at 9 AM:  CHP is en route to a report of a grey KIA running off Van Allen at River Road in Escalon and into some trees.

   An ambulance is also on its way to the location. Use extra caution until CHP can clear the roadway, as it is now partially blocked.

Reminder: Hwy 108 Caltrans work

   May 12, 2015 at 8:45 AM:  Just a reminder that Caltrans is working on Hwy 108 in the vicinity of Hwy 49, so be careful.

   A CHP unit is assisting Caltrans for safety. Drive slowly in that area.

Deer hit on Mountain Ranch Road

  May 12, 2015 at 8:35 AM:  CHP were notified that a deer was hit by a vehicle at Mountain Ranch Road and Sheep Ranch Road in Mountain Ranch.

  CHP has been dispatched to the area. Use extra caution if you are in that area.

Vehicle runs off Hwy 26

  May 12, 2015 at 8:30 AM:  CHP is at the scene where a vehicle ran off Hwy 26 near Hagen Road Road in Rancho Calaveras.

   It isn't yet known if there are injuries. Use extra caution until a tow truck can clear the area.

Collision in Ceres

   May 12, 2015 at 7:15 AM:  CHP is at the scene of a collision involving a white van and a grey truck at Central and Keyes in Ceres.

   No injuries have been reported, but a tow truck has been dispatched due to at least one vehicle blocking the roadway. Use extra caution in that area.

Another wrong way crash kills three

   May 12, 2015 at 6:30 AM:   The third wrong way crash in 20 days has killed three on I-80 westbound near Madison Ave. in Sacramento.

   This brings the total killed on Northern California freeways by wrong-way drivers to 11 in those 20 days.

    CHP is now warning late night drivers to stay in the slow lanes and avoid the fast lane when driving on freeways.
