Red Flag warning map

CalFire has issued this map, to remind al of us that we are
in the Red Flag Zone for fire danger.

Some of Markleeville Evacuates

   There are apparently a little over 200 full time residents in the town of Markleeville. For a week, they have been watching as the Washington Fire moves closer.

   Now we understand that some of the residents have already left the area, to avoid a last minute escape.  Mandatory evacuations have not yet been ordered.

Car blows tire and overturns

   June 27, 2015 at 3:15 PM:  A car apparently blew a tire and overturned at northbound Hwy 99 and Bradbury Road in Turlock.

   It isn't yet known if there are injuries.  Use extra caution if in that area.

Burglary reported in Avery

   On June 26, 2015 a burglary was reported at a business at Hwy 4 and Sheep Ranch Road in Avery.

  No other details are available at this time.  The Calaveras Sheriff took a report.

Lake Fire in San Bernardino County

   The Lake Fire is now over 30,000 acres in size, however containment is now at 40% per CalFire.

   The Washington Fire in Alpine County is now at 17,622 acres and is now 19% contained. Hwy 4 and Hwy 89 remain closed.

Fire reported in Jamestown

   June 27, 2015 at 12:40 PM:  A fire has been reported at Harvard Mine Road and Cemetery Road in Jamestown.

   CalFire has dispatched several units to the scene. Power lines are reported not down, but in the trees. Avoid the area if possible.

Baby Pygmy Hippo swims

   This is the newest member of the Pygmy Hippopotamus  family in Melbourne, Australia.

    His first swim was a bit scary, but Mom was watching closely.

Asphalt Plant: Planning Commissioners support Director Maurer??

   ASPHALT same as gravel????  Mr. Tunno who represents Supervisor Kearney, says YES!!

Tree blocking Mountain Ranch Road

   June 27, 2015 at 6:30 AM:  A tree has been reported down and blocking Mountain Ranch Road and MIchel Road in Mountain Ranch.

   Use extra caution if in that area.  CHP is at the scene.
