Collision in Murphys

   July 10, 2015 at 3:50 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported at Hwy 4 and Murphys Grade Road in Murphys between a white Mercedes and a silver vehicle.

   Use caution as there is debris in the roadway. No injuries were indicated in this collision.

Union Public Utility District meets

   On Wednesday July 15, 2015 at 7 PM the Union Public Utility District will hold its regular meeting at their office on Main Street in Murphys. The public is invited to attend.

   They will be discussing water conservation, an ordinance; and the Hwy 4 Corridor (adhoc committee) on water with the entire county will be discussed.  The 2014-14 Grand Jury report will also be discussed, including a response.

As expected, Calaveras Planning Commissioners back up Maurer's ASPHALT--should be removed!

   July 10, 2015: It was not unexpected that the Calaveras Planning Commission would do exactly what their Planning Director Maurer told them to do.

   Yesterday, they continued the meeting from late June, where Mr. Maurer set it up to defend

Semi runs off Hwy 99 in Acampo

   July 10, 2015 at 1 PM:  A semi has reportedly run off Hwy 99 and into a ditch near Collier Road in the Acampo area.

   Emergency vehicles are en route to the scene.

Vehicle rolls over on Tuolumne Road

   July 10, 2015 at 12:55 PM:  A vehicle has rolled over on Tuolumne Road and Wards Ferry Road in the East Sonora area.

   An ambulance is en route. Apparently the driver is out of the vehicle. Use extra caution if headed in that direction.

Traffic collision on Hwy 88

   July 10, 2015 at 12:30 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 88 near Blue Sky Drive in the Ione area.  This is near the railroad tracks.

   No injuries have been indicated. The driver is out of the vehicle. Use caution if in that area.  

Car rolls over railroad tracks

   July 10, 2015 at 11:20 AM:  A car has rolled over the railroad tracks on Santa Fe Avenue near 2nd Avenue in Merced.

   Car is not currently on the tracks, but close. CalFire removed driver from the vehicle. An ambulance is en route to the scene.

Calaveras Supervisors meet on July 14, 2015--No time for prayers???

   On Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 8 AM the Calaveras Supervisors will meet in Closed Session to discuss appointing a new Environmental Management Agency department head, since Brian Moss has been promoted to Assistant CAO.

   We definitely believe that Mr. Moss has NO business

Burglary suspect chased by bull in cow pasture

   A man in Alabama who was suspected of an early morning burglary, tried to escape by jumping a fence and running through a cow pasture.

   Unfortunately for him, the resident bull started chasing him, assisting the deputies in their arrest.  Stolen items were located in his truck.

And the Confederate Flag comes down in South Carolina....

   ...so that means things are better there, right??  NOT!  Not only did they have super extra security at the ceremony to remove the Confederate flag, but GUNS were not allowed within 300' of the event.

   So, nothing has really changed! As a black state Senator put it, if the hateful, racist " people who worship that flag had won the war, I would not be a Senator today."  I would be a SLAVE!  You can't put it better than that!!

If you invested in the Chinese stock market????

   You have some cause for concern if you invested in the Chinese stock market. Since mid June, it has lost nearly 30 % or over 3 trillion in equity.

   The government is attempting to stabilize it and it has not yet affected the US markets, but investors here are wary.

Traffic collision in Groveland

  July 10, 2015 at 8:15 AM:  A solo vehicle has reportedly crashed on Smith Station Road, about a mile of Hwy 120 in Groveland.

   No injuries are indicated, but a tow truck is required. Use extra caution this morning, as many roadways are wet.

Actor Omar Sharif dies

      Playing starring roles in Lawrence of Arabia and Dr. Zhivago, Omar Sharif was a legendary actor.

   He died of a heart attack overnight at age 83.

Elk Grove man arrested for killing small dog

Tom on a $1.1 million bail.
   Jesse Tom, a 29-year-old Elk Grove resident, was arrested on July 9, 2015 for alleged Animal Cruelty and Starting a fire, after officers responded to calls from neighbors about a dog being beaten.

   Tom apparently ran when officers tried to apprehend him. The small Chihuahua/beagle mix dog was found inside the BBQ, already dead.  There was also a fire that had been started in the kitchen of the home.

   Officers chased Tom through several back yards before apprehending him and taking him into custody.

Collision results in vehicle fire

   July 10, 2015 at 5:55 AM:  A traffic collision has resulted in a silver Ford Escape fire at Teaford Saddle Road and Road 420 in Oakhurst.

   The injured driver is being airlifted to a hospital with major injuries after the Ford left the road and became fully engulfed in flames.
