Motorcycle crash in Twain Harte

   July 11, 2015 at 7 PM:  A motorcycle crash was reported on Fish Hatchery Road and Forest Road 1N04 with two people approximately 50' off the roadway injured.

   CHP and an ambulance are en route to the scene. This is near the River Ranch Campground.

Famed Raiders QB dies

   In 1974 Kenny Stabler was the NFL's most valuable player.  As the Oakland Raiders QB, he was revered by fans.

   He had been battling colon cancer and finally passed away from complications of the disease. He was 69 years old.

Fire at SPI mill in Chinese Camp

 UPDATE at 4:35 PM:  Some engines have been cancelled as progress is being made on this fire.

 UPDATE at 4:25 PM: We just heard a report that this is a significant fire at the SPI mill. 

Vehicle collision in Groveland

   July 11, 2015 at 1:30 PM:   Two vehicles collided at Cherry Lake Road and Stanislaus Forest Road 1N07 in the Groveland area.

   An ambulance and tow truck are en route to the scene.

Two motorcycles collide on Hwy 88

   July 11, 2015 at 1:05 PM:  Two motorcycles have reportedly run off hwy 88 near the Dew Drop Bypass in Pioneer. Two riders appear injured down the embankment.

   Emergency personnel are en route to the scene. Other motorcycles have stopped in the area.

Who is President of Ford Construction??

   Based in Lodi, San Joaquin County, Ford Construction has close ties with elected officials in that area.

   In fact, we show records that Nick Jones, who claims to be President of Ford Construction, the petroleum asphalt plant in Rancho Calaveras, was at least a Planning Commissioner in Lodi. A little political influence????

Curly was cooked to death at dog groomer

   California may have to take another look at the regulations regarding dog groomers after a poodle named Curly was literally cooked to death in a doggie dryer.

Burglary in Angels Camp

   On July 10, 2015 a resident on Appaloosa Road in Angels Camp reported they had been burglarized.

   The Calaveras Sheriff's Office took a report of the incident.

Email to CCWD for immature behavior--playing FACEBOOK games

   Yesterday afternoon, we were unfortunate to come upon a large amount of CCWD vehicles parked on Hwy 4, making more noise than we have ever heard from a water company crew.

   When we sent questions to the Board (especially Bertha Underhill as it was in her district), we were told to LIKE them on FACEBOOK!

it was so loud, you couldn't hear yourself think!

LAFCo meets next week

  LAFCo (Local Agency Formation Commission) will meet on July 20, 2015 at 6 PM in the Calaveras Board of Supervisors Chambers in San Andreas.

One-way traffic on Hwy 12

  July 11, 2015 at 6 AM:  One way traffic is still in effect after a pickup pulling a pontoon boat reportedly spun out on Hwy 12 at the Tower Park Bridge and hit an SUV at around 1:20 AM this morning.

Major injuries in early morning crash

   July 11, 2015:  A grey pickup struck a sign and a tree at around 2:50 AM this morning on Lower Sacramento Road and Woodbridge Road in the Woodbridge Country Club area..

   Major injuries resulted from this collision, which was near the dam. The northbound lane was blocked for some time as the emergency vehicle handled the crash and got the victim to a hospital.

Vehicle rollover in Groveland

   July 11, 2015 at 5:45 AM;  A  vehicle has reportedly rolled over on Pine Mountain Drive and Ferretti in Groveland.

   A tow truck has been dispatched. It isn't clear if there are any injuries. Be extra careful if headed for that area.
