Car crashes in Sutter Creek

   July 13, 2015 at 3:45 PM:  A car has reportedly left Shake Ridge Road in Sutter Creek at high speed and crashed down the hill and into the trees.

   An ambulance and other emergency personnel are en route to the scene. Use caution if headed for that area.  This is a single vehicle crash.

Arrest in Angels Camp

   A man was arrested on Bret Harte Drive and Booster Way after a resident called the Calaveras Sheriff to report that a man was moaning, yelling, mumbling loudly.

Firearms complaints in Calaveras County

  On July 12, 2015 complaints of illegal shooting were reported to the Calaveras Sheriff from a residence on Sequoia in Valley Springs;  from a residence on Limestone Drive in Wallace, a resident on Stevenson in Mokelumne Hill and from a resident on Worden Road in Mountain Ranch.

    The Calaveras Sheriff took no report on the incidents.

West Point man arrested

  On July 11, 2015 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office arrested Anthony Edward Kesler (39) of no known address in West Point on Railroad Flat Road in Wilseyville for allegedly Evading a Police Officer with disregard for Public Safety, a felony and for Obstructing or resisting Arrest, Manufacture, Import or Sale of a Billy Club, Driving without a License, and Possession of Marijuana over 28.5 grams, all misdemeanors.

   He was also arrested for alleged felony Violation of Parole on an outstanding Warrant.  Kesler was booked into the Calaveras County Jail.

   July 13, 2015 at 10:30 AM:  A car has been reported blocking Hwy 49 on the 'curves' near Electra Road on the Amador County side of the river.

   Use extra caution until CHP can clear the hazard.

Widow of Eric Garner refuses $ 5 million

   The City of New York knew they would have a law suit on their hands after several of their police officers apparently suffocated Eric Garner, while trying to arrest him for selling cigarettes on the street.

    The window of Garner has now officially rejected the City's offer of $ 5, saying it is not enough to repay the grief the family has suffered.

   According to a Cal Fire report, on July 11, 2015 around 4 PM they responded to a fire at the SPI lumber mill in the 14000 block of Perri Cone Road in Chinese Camp.

    The Calaveras Supervisors have a long agenda to work on tomorrow, beginning at 8 AM in the Board Chambers in San Andreas.

    If Chair Edsel ever stops praying for those horrible sinful women who believe in equal rights, and trying to help the extremist right wing religious groups, they may  address the 30 items on the agenda.

Oak tree down in Murphys

  July 13, 2015 at 8:20 AM:  An oak tree is reportedly down in the roadway at Roaring Camp Road near Coyote in Murphys.

   PG&E and Calaveras County roads have been notified and will respond. Use care if in the area.
