Fire on Hwy 49

   Hwy 49 has been closed for much of the afternoon as a fire swept back and forth across the Hwy near Coloma in El Dorado County.

   Over 100 acres have been burned, as firefighters battle the blaze from the air, attempted to control its spread.

Patricia Joy Gellerman

 At her home in Valley Springs, Patricia Joy Gellerman, affectionately called Pat by her family, died Wednesday July 1, 2015.

   She was accompanied by her beloved husband

   Born May 1, 1943 in Tacoma, Washington, Suzanne Theda Danley passed away July 5, 2015 at the age of 72 in Valley Springs, where she had resided

Angels Police catch shooter

   On July 14, 2015 at approximately 10:45 PM officers from the Angels Camp Police Department were on foot in the area of Mark Twain Road and S. Main Street on an unrelated call, when they heard a single but distinct gunshot in the area.

Car Fire in Livingston

   July 16, 2015 at 1:10 PM:  A car fire has been reported in a field at Atwater Jordan Road an Lincoln Boulevard in Livingston.

    The car is nearly destroyed, per the reporting party. Cal Fire is en route to the scene.

Gunman Kills Marines in Tennessee

   A gunman reportedly killed 4 Marines in a military complex in Chattanooga Tennessee earlier today.

   The gunman is also dead, killed by police. No other details have been made available yet.

Brush Fire reported in Manteca

   July 16, 2015 at 12:05 PM:  A brush fire has been reported at Hwy 99 and Hwy 120 east.

   Cal Fire is responding to the scene. Use caution if headed that way as the area is smoky.

Traffic Collision in Oakdale

   July 16, 2015 at 12 Noon:  A Mitsubishi and a white SUV have reportedly collided at River Road and Rodden Road in Oakdale.

   CHP and an ambulance are en route. Use caution in the area as there is debris in the lanes.

Major injuries in Motorcycle crash

   July 16, 2015 at 9:40 AM:  A Honda and a motorcycle collided at Lammers and Valpico Road in Tracy, resulting in major injuries for one victim.

    Three CHP are at the scene. An ambulance and tow truck are en route. Use caution if in the area.

Traffic Collision in Long Barn

   July 16, 2015 at 9:30 AM:  CHP and a tow truck are en route to Hwy 108 and Old Strawberry Road in Long Barn for a vehicle that was involved in a traffic collision.

   No injuries were reported in this collision. Use extra caution if in that area.

White van runs off Sheep Ranch Road

   July 16, 2015 at 9:15 AM:  A white van has reportedly run off Sheep Ranch Road near Esmarelda in Sheep Ranch.

   A tow truck has been dispatched to the scene. It isn't clear if there are any injuries.

Yet another Calaveras month without a District 3 Supervisor

   There are rumors everywhere about where and what happened to the newly elected Calaveras District 3 Supervisor Michael Oliveira. On July 14, 2015 Board meeting, he was again a no show.

   They have apparently moved back

Is Calaveras back online today?

   After a major cable cut in San Joaquin County early on July 15, 2015 disrupted not only 911 service, but internet service to a large area, AT&T believes most people will have service today. It is believed that it was caused by vandals or possible copper thieves.

   Those affected were notified by a robo-call late on Wednesday morning after they were bombarded by reports of inability to go online.  It does go to show how dependent we all are on our internet service.
