Lowell Fire in Nevada and Placer County Update

  UPDATE: Per Cal Fire, as of 10 PM on July 25, 2015 the Lowell Fire was 4000 acres. 9 helicopters, 55 engines, and 9 air tankers are currently assigned to this fire.  They have 0 containment.

Ted Cruz calls Mitch McConnell a liar

   It seems that Senator Ted Cruz was in the room when Senator McConnell (majority leader), promised he would make no deals with a Washington state Senator to get a bill passed.

   He also stated that nothing is different now that Republicans are in the majority, because McConnell is just the same as Harry Reid, his Democratic predecessor was. He went on for quite a long time, criticizing Republicans (his own party).

Lowell Fire in Nevada County

    A fire that was reported at around 2:40 PM this afternoon, was already burning so fast it had consumed 1500 acres by 4:30 PM near the town of Alta in Nevada County and spreading toward Placer County.

   The small communities of Red Dog, Chalk Bluffs and You Bet are under mandatory evacuation. Due to the speed of the spread of this fire other areas have been given advisory evacuation notices.

Car hits pole near Bear Valley

   July 25, 2015 at 6 PM:  A car reportedly hit a yellow pole on Hwy 4 near Hwy 207 outside Bear Valley.

   The driver left to go to the Lake Alpine Store. CHP is en route.  Apparently being called a hit and run at this time.

Traffic Collision in Arnold

   July 25, 2015 at 5:50 PM:  A traffic collision was reported on Sierra Parkway near Wikami in Arnold, where a silver Dodge Durango hit some trees.

    Two patients need an ambulance and a tow truck is required. CHP is now at the scene. Use extra caution if in that area.

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?

   After being forced to turn the channel during all those silly soccer games, its only natural that REAL football fans are eager for the NFL to start playing season 2015.

   Can you believe that some guy named Manfred placed our 49ers in 29th, clear down in the basement for this year?  Well, what can you expect when he writes for Business Insider.

Traffic Collision in Jamestown

   July 25, 2015 at 2:25 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported at Hwy 108 and Main Street in Jamestown.

   No injuries have been indicated and it is not blocking the roadway. CHP is en route to the scene.

If you thought AT&T was too powerful before....

   ...then just wait!

   Now that the FEDs have approved AT&T's purchase of Direct TV, they will become a communication powerhouse.   Comcast and AT&T will pretty much rule the country's hookups to the world.

      And how do companies like AT&T and Comcast get all this money to buy networks and other businesses? Just ask anyone and they will likely say "Why, by overcharging us, of course!"

House Fire in Italian Bar area of Columbia

   UPDATE at 11:55 AM:  The house fire is under control. Some units have been cancelled. They have requested another water tender in the area.

   UPDATE at 11:30 AM:  Power lines are down in the area.

How scary is that? And so close to home?

   Louisiana police have been trying to figure out what made the shooter go into the Lafayette theater and shoot people.

   One thing they have learned is that apparently he loved Hitler and hated LIBERALS!  Does that sound familiar?? 

Retired LA cop now bank robber?

Orange County Sheriff says Randolph
 Adair is responsible for holdups
      Known after a string of bank robberies as the "Snowbird Bandit", police say that Randolph Adair, a retired LA police detective, is the one allegedly responsible for the holdups.

   Apparently a heavy gambler, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said he had gambling receipts on him when captured.  They allege he was responsible for at least 5 of the robberies.

Florida town wants KKK removed from building

     Residents of Baker County, Florida have submitted a petition to have the mural of the KKK removed from the County courthouse.

    Hard to believe here in California, that these things still exist in the south, isn't it? Shocking!!

Horses on roadway in Lathrop

  Don't tell the TROLL, but there are horses out in the roadway at Briggs and Manthey in Lathrop.

  CHP are trying to locate the owners and get them off the roadway. Use extra caution if headed in that direction.

Kyburz Fire update

   As of 7:30 AM July 25, 2015 the USFS announces that one lane of Hwy 50 is now reopen. The fire is 200 acres and is 30% contained.  Traffic is, however, metered and lead through the fire area.

   The fire is burning in steep canyons. Three helicopter and 13 fire crews are battling this fire, which they say has not been "sufficiently reinforced to increase the containment percentage."

Wragg Fire near Lake Berryessa update

  As of 8:30 AM July 25, 2015 Cal Fire reports that the Wragg Fire near Lake Berryessa is 6900 acres and is 47% contained.

   Hwy 128 will reopen and all evacuation orders are lifted as of 10 AM this morning.   There will be a town hall meeting tonight at 6 PM at the Winters Fire Station.

Are you a Katmai bear fan?

  It seems that people from all over the world enjoy the brown bears at Katmai in Alaska. Some have named them and follow them year after year.

  They are amazing! And watching the mother bears
trying to teach their cubs is so funny!

  There is one who sits on top of Brooks Falls and slaps the water. Does that make the fish jump? Not sure.

Traffic collision on Hwy 4

   July 25, 2015 at 9 AM:  A brown Ford Focus reportedly hit the wall at Hwy 4 and Hwy 99 northbound in Stockton.

   No injuries were indicated, but be cautious as CHP and a tow truck are en route to the scene.

  

Car loses control, hits center divide

  July 25, 2015 at 8:50 AM:  A solo vehicle lost control and hit the center divide at Hwy 99 and Monte Vista Ave. in Turlock.

   An ambulance is en route to the scene. Several passersby have stopped to help.  Use extra caution if in that area.

   Use extra caution until CHP can arrive on the scene.

Burning vehicle reported in Ceres

   July 25, 2015 at 6:30 AM:  A burning vehicle was reported at Blaiker Road and Service Road in Ceres, in the orchard.

   Apparently the vehicle is completely burned.  CHP is en route to the area.
