Who is "Mr. Big Pot"??Assault? Preston, Oliveira, Strohmeyer ties??

    Bill McManus, who has run for Supervisor is District 3 without success and was one of the main campaigners for Michael Oliveira, has been making a lot of noise lately. He now claims he's been assaulted!

Traffic collision in Lodi

   August 5, 2015 at 5:25 PM:  Two vehicles have collided at Armstrong Road and Pearson Road in Lodi.

   A tow truck was dispatched for the Camaro that was blocking Armstrong Road. Minor injuries resulted from this collision.

Vehicle over the side off Hwy 108

   August 5, 2015 at 5:15 PM:  A traffic collision occurred at Hwy 108 and Soulsbyville Road, just outside Soulsbyville when a car swerved to miss a deer and went over the side of the roadway and down the embankment.

       Fortunately only minor injuries were reported.  A tow truck was dispatched to get the car, which was leaking gas.

Final Music in the Parks concert in Murphys

   The Calaveras Arts Councils' final concert in their Music in the Parks series in Wednesday August 19, 2015 at Murphys Community Park.

   Snap Jackson and Knock on Wood will perform from 6:30 PM to 8 PM. There is no charge for the concert.

Car into mountainside in Mountain Ranch

    August 5, 2015 at 2:45 PM:  Two cars reportedly collided and one went into the side of the mountain on Railroad Flat Road and Eagleview Road in Mountain Ranch.

    A tow truck has been dispatched, but be extra cautious in that area as it is blocking the roadway.

Vehicle in Canal in Patterson

    August 5, 2015 at 1:15 PM:  A car has been reported as running off the road and into the canal at Jennings and Main in Patterson.

   Water may be sewage, unsure. The female driver is out of the vehicle. A tow truck has been dispatched.

Traffic Collision in Turlock

   August 5, 2015 at 12:25 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported at Bradbury and Mitchell in Turlock. 

    An ambulance has been dispatched due to a possible back injury. Use extra caution as one vehicle is blocking a lane.

Willow Fire update

   As of Wednesday August 5, 2015 at 7 AM the Willow Fire in the Sierra National Forest near North Fork has burned 5,702 acres, but is currently 85% contained.

   This fire was human caused, a juvenile who has been arrested.

   We are going to quote an article written by Nick Baptista and published in The Valley Springs News titled "Marijuana shop opponent says he was assaulted"!

70 Lightning Fires in Humboldt County

  As of 8:30 AM on August 5, 2015 70 lightning caused fires have burned 3,702 acres and 4 outbuildings so far.

   Containment is currently 30%.

Rocky Fire over 68,000 acres/39 homes lost!

  As of August 5, 2015 at 7:10 AM the Rocky Fire is 68,300 acres and is 20% contained, mostly due to the clouds and cooler temperatures on Tuesday.

    The emotional toil of this fire on longtime landowners in the area is heartbreaking. We still don't know the exact cause of this fire. 39 homes, 52 structures and other outbuildings have been destroyed in this fire so far.

Vehicle into canal in Winton

  UPDATE at 9:15 AM:  Injuries were minor in this collision. PG&E has been advised that there is a damaged electric pole.

Traffic collision in Tuttletown

   August 5, 2015 at 8:50 AM:  Hwy 49 is blocked due to a traffic collision near Tuttletown Road in the Tuttletown area.

   No injuries have been indicated. Traffic is swerving to go around the collision, so be careful if headed that way.

Car run off road in Manteca

   August 5, 2015 at 8:15 AM:  According to a witness, a white Honda ran a Prius off the roadway, causing the Prius to hit the railing, and then left the scene at Hwy 120 and Main Street in Manteca.

   The witness even got the license plate number. No injuries have been reported in the collision. Use extra caution as a tow truck moves the Prius. Five vehicles are now stopped on the shoulder.

Big rig collision in Turlock

   August 5, 2015 at 6:20 AM:  A big rig and a pickup collision has been reported at Santa Fe and Vincent in Turlock.

   No injuries were indicated, but be extra cautious in that area as CHP clears the vehicles.

Traffic hazard in San Andreas

   August 5, 2015 at 6:10 AM:  A traffic hazard has been reported at Hwy 12 and Hwy 49 in San Andreas.

   Caltrans has been notified. Appears to be something to do with a traffic sign, but it isn't clear. Be extra cautious if in that area.
