  UPDATE at 7:30 PM:  One way traffic control is still in effect, so be extra cautious if headed in that direction.

Traffic collision in Jamestown

   September 2, 2015 at 7:15 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported at Shell Road and Rawhide Road in Jamestown.

   An ambulance and other emergency personnel are en route to the scene.

Hazard: Cow out on Hwy 4 and Pool Station Road

   September 2, 2015 at 4:20 PM:  A cow has been reported out on the roadway at Hwy 4 and Pool Station Road, just below Angels Camp.

   Be extra cautious until CHP can locate the owner. And don't tell the TROLL, please.

Fiery head-on crash on Jackson Highway

   Around 9:30 PM on September 1, 2015 a head-on crash on Jackson Highway near Rancho Murrieta killed both drivers of the cars involved. Others in the vehicles were able to escape the flames.

   A grass fire started as a result of the crash, so Cal Fire also responded to the scene. One vehicle was in the oncoming lane at the time of the crash. The reason is not known at this time.

Collision in Martell

  September 2, 2015 at 3:35 PM:  A white Honda and a beige Ford collided on Hwy 88 and Kennedy Flat Road in Martell.

    An ambulance and other emergency personnel are responding to the scene. Be careful if in that area.

Collision ends with major injuries

   September 2, 2015 at 11:44 AM;  A van was apparently involved in a collision on Hwy 99 northbound at Morada Lane in Lodi.

   A man jumped out of the van and was struck by a big rig while trying to run across the freeway. He was taken to a hospital with major injuries.

Big Rig and car collide in Pine Grove

   UPDATE:  A tow was needed for both the big rig and the car, but no injuries were reported.

Traffic Hazard: Injured deer on Winton Road

   September 2, 2015 at 11:05 AM:  An injured deer has been reported on Winton Road at Skull Flat Road in West Point.

   Use extra caution if in that area until CHP can arrive on scene.

Roadside grass fire in Jenny LInd

   On August 31, 2015 around 8:10 PM CalFire responded to a report of a grass fire on Olive Orchard and Hwy 26 in Jenny Lind.

   Two Cal Fire units and Calaveras Consolidated fire quickly extinguished the blaze, limiting it to just a small spot of vegetation.

Be extra careful! The deer are running for their lives!!

   For those of you who love and respect the wildlife in Ebbetts Pass, you may not realize that Cruelty to Animals Hunting Season, has begun.

Murphys man arrested in Angels Camp

   On August 29, 2015 around 3:40 PM Angels Camp Police arrested Michael Joseph Preston (57)

Fire near Thousand Oaks Park

   September 2, 2015 at 8:45 AM:  A fire has been reported at Scenic Drive and Coffee Road in Modesto, near Thousand Oaks Park.

    Fire personnel are responding to the area. Watch for smoke if you're headed that way.

Injured deer on Hwy 4

   September 2, 2015 at 8:30 AM:  An injured deer has been reported on Hwy 4 near Arnold Byway in Arnold.

    CHP notified Caltrans to remove it. Sad, but true; they simply kill them if they don't die before Caltrans arrives. Slow down and use deer warning whistles (around $10) on the front bumpers.

   They work!
