Collision in Jamestown

   September 4, 2015 at 4:25 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 108 and Golf Links Road in Jamestown.

   CHP and an ambulance are en route to the scene. Use extra caution in the area.

    September 4, 2015 at 3:05 PM:  Hwy 4 just re-opened after a head on collision that occurred around 2 PM between an older white SUV and a red pickup.

   Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC), of which Calaveras County is a member, is holding their annual meeting on September 23-25, 2015 at the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel in El Dorado County.

   On the agenda is WATER

White mini-van crashes on Hwy 108

   September 4, 2015 at 12:30 PM:  A white mini-van ran off Hwy 108 at Obyrnes Ferry Road and hit the embankment, causing major front end damage.

   One person has minor injuries from the crash. Use caution if in the area.

Murphys Sanitary District Board meets--Grease Traps!

   The Murphys Sanitary District Board will meet on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 10 AM in their office on Big Trees Road in Murphys.

   On the agenda is GREASE TRAPS (called interceptors) and who is to be fined if they are not kept clean, record keeping requirements, etc. Two Resolutions are required to pass on a Roll Call Vote.

Head-on collision at Phoenix Lake

   September 4, 2015 at 11 AM:  A head-on traffic collision was reported on Phoenix Lake Road and Expedition Drive outside Sonora.

   One person has been taken to the hospital with major injuries.  A tow truck is en route to the scene. Be extra cautious if in that area.

Utility Trailer Fire in Burson

   On September 3, 2015 Cal Fire and Calaveras Consolidated responded to a utility trailer/ATV fire around 6:15 PM on Wade Lane in Burson.

   The fire spread slightly into the grass around the trailer and was extinguished immediately, with only around a 2' x 2' spot burned.

  

Sheep Ranch man arrested at Senders Market

   According to the Calaveras Sheriff's Office on September 3, 2015 they responded to a call at Senders Market in Mountain Ranch and arrested Christopher John Trotter (43) of Sheep Ranch.

   Trotter was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for allegedly Threatening a Crime, Injuring Power Lines and Assault with a Deadly Weapon, not a firearm, all felonies and for Vandalism under $400, a misdemeanor.

Man staggering after crash on Hwy 132

   September 4, 2015 at 8:05 AM:  A man has been reported staggering in the roadway after crashing his vehicle into the center divide at Hwy 132 and Mitchell Road just outside Modesto.

   CHP is en route to the scene. Use extra caution if headed in that direction.

Angels Camp Farmers Market tonight

   Tonight beginning at 5 PM and running until dusk is the Angels Camp Farmers Market.

    It is located at Utica Park in Angels Camp.

Woman's body found in car in Mokelumne River

   September 4, 2015 at 8 AM:  A woman's body was found inside a submerged vehicle in the Mokelumne River near Isleton late yesterday.

   A witness had reported seeing the vehicle go into the river earlier in the day. Police believe she was the sole occupant. They have not released her name, but said she lived in Martinez.

Big Rig explodes and starts fire in Tracy

   September 4, 2015 at 6:25 AM:  A reported big rig explosion around 1 AM started the big rig on fire and the fire spread to the roadside grass in Tracy on I-205.

    Fire personnel responded to the scene, along with CHP and an ambulance. Injuries were minor, according to CHP. It was several hours before the area was cleared.  I-205 is now open both ways.

Vehicle vs bicycle near Black Oak Casino

   September 4, 2015 at 6:20 AM:  A collision between a vehicle and a bicycle was reported at the entrance to Black Oak Casino on Tuolumne Road in Tuolumne.

    An ambulance was dispatched, but it has been determined by CHP to be a no injury collision.
