Bad call by NFL ref not about knocking it out of receiver's hands

   The NFL admits the refs made a bad call, which likely caused the Detroit Lions the game over the Seattle Seahawks on last night's Monday Night Football.

Free pole permits for Mountain Ranch area?

  It seems only right that the Calaveras County Public Works Department should be giving free permits (usually several hundred dollars) to install a new electric pole at their burned out residences.  Many will not even rebuild.

   Some, however, have questioned that the person making this request has a contract with PG&E to make possibly millions of dollars providing these poles. Is there a conflict of interest here???  Perhaps if YOU offered free poles.

Electric Shock injury in Angels Camp Save-Mart

   October 6, 2015 at 11:45 AM:  Emergency crews are responding to a call of a person receiving electric shock injuries at the Angels Camp Save-Mart on Stockton Road.

   No other information is available at this time.

Hwy 4 Wagon Trail Realignment meeting at Bret Harte

   Calaveras Council of Governments(COG) has announced that they are holding a meeting at Bret Harte High School, (multi-purpose room) from 6 to 8 PM on the 8th of October 2015 to discuss the Hwy 4 Wagon Trail Realignment between Copperopolis and Angels Camp. You can see the map at the end of this article.

Injured fawn in Rancho Calaveras

   October 6, 2015 at 10:30 AM:  An injured fawn, possibly with a broken leg, has been reported on Milton Road and Jenny Lind Road in Rancho Calaveras.

   Use extra caution if headed in that direction until CHP arrives at that location.

Governor Brown signs California's Assisted Suicide bill

   It used to be that California led the country in progressive ideas and policies. However, in the assisted suicide debate, the physicians lobbies have prevented the Assisted Suicide law for years.

  Late yesterday, October 5, 2015 Governor Brown signed the new bill into law, allowing those with less that 6 months to live, and with sufficient mental capabilities, to get the help they need in ending their suffering. It's about time, California!

Semi vs. Street sweeper in Jamestown

   October 6, 2015 at 9 AM:  A semi truck and a street sweeper have reportedly collided at Hwy 108 and Obyrnes Ferry Road in Jamestown.

   Minor injuries have been indicated. Tow trucks have been dispatched for both vehicles. CHP is at the scene.

Jerry Brown's $15 BILLION tunnels for Southern California troubling

  The Governor of California is packaging the twin tunnels to Southern California as an answer to problems of the drought.

   The fact is, NOTHING in this $15 billion

Pickup into embankment in West Point

   October 6, 2015 at 8:45 AM:  A pickup has hit an embankment at Hwy 26 and Higdon Road in West Point.

   A Calaveras Sheriff's deputy reported the incident and a tow truck has been dispatched to the scene. Use extra caution if in that area.

Want Elvis' gold piano???

   On November 7, 2015 in Beverly Hills, there will be a rock 'n roll themed auction and one of the stars on the block will be from Elvis Presley's collection.

   His gold-leaf piano is expected to bring in around $700,000 at auction and has been at Graceland all these years.

Traffic Collision in Mokelumne Hill

   October 6, 2015 at 8:35 AM:  A traffic collision was reported at Hwy 49 and Center Street in Mokelumne HIll that may have involved a white pest control company truck running off the roadway.

   CHP and other emergency personnel are responding to the scene. Use extra caution if in that area.
