Don't tell anyone, but.....

A lone eagle was spotted flying in Calaveras County this week.
We can't tell you where, because witnesses are fearful of the
gun lunatics, who think they should shoot anything that moves.
It is wonderful, though. Hopefully, it has a mate!

Traffic collision on Hwy 12

October 24, 2015 at 11:30 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 12 at Lower Double Springs Road in Double Springs.

Heading to Apple Hill

If you are planning a trip to Apple Hill this fall, you might keep in mind that El Dorado County health officials have reported 7 cases of e-coli from unpasteurized apple juice from a farm in that area.

Apparently the farm has recalled its juice voluntarily and will stop offering free juice to visitors of the area.

How many have been given trailers now?

We sent an email to each Calaveras Supervisors, asking how many of the families burned out by the Butte Fire now have trailers on their own land.

We don't feel its right to prevent them from going back to their own land due to what they are called dangerous circumstances.  We have also been told that using buckets for human waste and trying to live in a car is much more dangerous to your health than breathing in the so-called poison ash.

Missing person from Dorrington

27 year old Richard Treff has been reported missing in the Dorrington area by the Calaveras County Sheriff.

He left on foot from his house on Yuroc around 5 PM on October 21, 2015. He has not been seen since. Helicopters and ground search and rescue have scoured the area without success.

He is 6'2" tall and weighs around 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. If you seen him contact the Sheriff at 754-6500.
