Cement truck rollover on Hwy 49

   UPDATE:  Hwy 49 re-opened around 5 PM. What a mess!

Cal Fire increasing burn hours allowed

   Cal Fire has just issued a press release stating that the nighttime burn hours are now increased to all hours with a valid permit and on allowed burn days.

   You must have a permit to burn.

Postal Workers Union endorses for President

   Earlier today, the American Postal Workers Union, who believe that the Postal Service should continue just like it has been, with increasing rates and high pensions for its old workers, has endorsed

Major injury collision on Hwy 120

   November 12, 2015 at 2:45 PM:  A collision has been reported on Hwy 120 at Main Street in Manteca, with one vehicle going over the embankment.

  CHP is at the scene and an ambulance is en route due to major injuries to one victim. A tow truck is also dispatched to the site.

Asphalt Plant pubic hearing in Calaveras County

  On November 19, 2015 the Ford Construction Asphalt Plant will be on the Calaveras Planning Commission agenda for a Public Hearing at 9 AM.

   The meeting will be held in the Calaveras Board of Supervisors chambers in San Andreas.

Car into ravine in Groveland

   November 12, 2015 at 1:35 PM:  A single car ran off Pine Mountain Road near Rock Canyon Way and into a ravine in the Groveland area.

   No injuries have been reported. CHP is en route, as well as a tow truck.

Traffic collision in Sonora

   November 12, 2015 at 1:20 PM:  A red Dodge Ram and a silver Chevy reportedly collided at Tuolumne Road and Terrace Drive in Sonora.

   No injuries were indicated. CHP is en route to the scene.

Sunny Acres Nut Company sign hit

   November 12, 2015 at 1:15 PM:  A delivery driver hit the Sunny Acres Nut Company sign on Sunny Acres Drive in Turlock and fled the scene.

   No injuries were reported. CHP has it as a Hit and Run nut case.

Driver takes out signs in Ripon

   November 12, 2015 at 1 PM:  A driver of a white sedan fell asleep or had been drinking, it was reported on Ripon Road and Olive Avenue and took out some street signs in Ripon.

   CHP is en route to the seen. Use extra caution in that area.


Placerville murders inheritance related??

   A Placerville man is in jail alleged to have killed his mother and brother on Rocky Ridge Road after an argument over who would inherit their mother's estate.

   The wife of one of the brothers went to the home from Sacramento looking for her husband and found her husband's brother with a gun, ran and called the Sheriff.

   UPDATE:  The puppy has been removed from the freeway.

Explosions reported in Wilseyville

  On November 11, 2015 a little after 11 PM, two residents in Wilseyville reported loud explosions that shook their houses on June Ave. and Paddock Lane.

   They requested contact by a deputy, but the Calaveras Sheriff's Office took no report.

  UPDATE: This is near Hunt Road and is still being cleared, so be cautious. Avoid the area if possible.

Veterans Day Parade left veterans empty

At this Veterans Day Parade in Florida,
Veterans were made to feel unwanted and empty,
as this float was cheered. The man staring at
the camera apparently left some  veterans feeling 2nd class to
 these white supremacists. Sad, but true!! 

Overturned car in West Point

   November 12, 2015 at 8:30 AM:  Another traffic collision has been reported in Calaveras County, this one in West Point on Hwy 26 at Red Corral Road.

   The car has overturned and is on its roof with a woman inside. Injuries are not known at this time.

Traffic collision in Burson

   November 12, 2015 at 8:20 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Southworth Drive near Hwy 12 in Burson.

   It appears to be a single vehicle collision without injury. A tow truck has been dispatched to the scene. CHP has now arrived.

Foggy in the Valleys

  If you need to drive to the San Joaquin or Sacramento Valley areas today, be extra careful, as there is low fog in several spots, especially on Hwy 99.

   If you can wait until after 9 AM when the fog will start to clear, it will be safer to drive.

NIssan runs off Hwy 120

   November 12, 2015 at 6 AM:  A blue Nissan has reportedly run about 30' off Hwy 120 westbound near Airport Boulevard in the Manteca area.

   CHP is at the scene where the Nissan will have to be towed back onto the roadway. No injuries were indicated, but use extra caution if headed in that direction.
