CCWD Finance Committe meets

    Calaveras County Water District finance committee will meet on December 15, 2015 at 10 AM in the Board room in San Andreas.

   We see District Realignment on the agenda, but we do not see the bickering

Chains required at Cottage Springs

 December 10, 2015 at 3:30 PM:  Caltrans now has chains required on all vehicles without 4 wheel drive at Cottage Springs on Hwy 4.

   Be careful if driving to the snow country.

Planned Parenthood extreme radical Christian terrorist: "I am guilty"

   The man in Colorado, who was arrested and charged with killing people while attempting to stop abortions, yelled many times during his hearing yesterday.

   "Baby killers", "I'm stopping baby killers" and many other phrases he apparently learned from extreme right wing radical fundamentalist Christian organizations.

Another vehicle runs off Hwy 4

   December 10, 2015 at 1:30 PM:  Another  vehicle ran off Hwy 4 near Pool Station Road, according to a CHP report.  The fire department is helping person out of the car.

   Minor injuries have been indicated. A tow truck is en route to the scene. Use caution if in the area.

New Mayor in City of Angels Camp??

    For the past year, Wes Kulm, a retired bureaucrat and we believe, pathological, has been sitting as the Mayor of Angels Camp.

   It has been bad experience for the City and especially for those who live in the old portions of Angels Camp.  We'll see who moves into mayor for 2016. Anything will be an improvement.

Massive big rig crash on I-5 --One fatality

   December 10, 2015 at 11 AM:  CHP has just reopened northbound I-5 after a three hour shut down due to a big rig crash around 8 AM in South Sacramento.

   One person was reportedly killed in the crash, which affected all northbound lanes.  Two other vehicles were also involved and there were indications of verbal altercations between drivers of vehicles at the scene.

Dumpster diver arrested?

  On December 9, 2015 a man was was arrested after someone reported a person was in the middle of a dumpster going through the contents on Hwy 49 in San Andreas.

   Apparently the reporting party was irate. One person said they were working the Butte Fire recovery. It isn't clear if the person arrested was the one in the dumpster or the reporting party.  Threats had been made.

  

Large boulder on Hwy 4

   December 10, 2015 at 10:35 AM:  A large boulder has been reported on Hwy 4 near the Utica Power plant in Murphys.

   CHP and Caltrans are responding to the scene. Be cautious if headed in that direction.

Overturned pickup on Hwy 4

   UPDATE:  This incident has been cleared by CHP.

Chains required on Hwy 4

   December 10, 2015 at 8:25 AM:  Chains are now required on all vehicles without 4 wheel drive and snow tires at Tamarack on Hwy 4.

   Do not go to the mountains today unprepared for bad weather. And always carry chains.

Mudslide on Hwy 49

   December 10, 2015 at 8:20 AM:  A mudslide has been reported on Hwy 49 at Electra Road near the river.

   This is in the area where the Butte Fire started. Drive carefully. Caltrans will be dispatched to clean the roadway as soon as possible.

Traffic collision on Hwy 4--Drivers need to slow down!!

   December 10, 2015 at 8:15 AM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 4 near Pool Station Road where a grey Chevy left the roadway and hit a tree.

   An ambulance, CHP and a tow truck are en route to the scene. Use extra caution if headed that way. The driver is apparently still in the vehicle.

Mud and Rockslide in Mokelumne Hill

   December 10, 2015 at 8:15 AM:  A mud and rockslide have been reported on Hwy 26 in the Mokelumne Hill area.

   Be careful in the area until Caltrans can clear the roadway.

Car runs off roadway in Waterloo area

   December 10, 2015 at 8:10 AM:  A car ran off Alpine Road in the Waterloo area, not far from Hwy 88. The car is out in a field.

   An ambulance and tow truck are en route to the scene. Slow down. Roads are slick with the rain.

Tree down in Rancho Calaveras

   December 10, 2015 at 8:05AM:  A tree has been reported down on the roadway at warren Road and Evergreen Road in Rancho Calaveras.

   Be careful in that area until it can be removed.

Tree down in Burson

   December 10, 2015 at 8 AM:  A tree has been reported down on the roadway at Burson Road and Camanche Parkway in the Burson area.

   Calaveras County roads will dispatch a crew to remove it. Be extra cautious if headed that way.

Chains required on Hwy 88

     December 10, 2015 at 6 AM: Per Caltrans chains are required on Hwy 88 from Peddlar Hill to Silver Lake.

   Hwy 4 currently has no chain restrictions.
