Arrest at Angels Camp McDonalds

   On December 10, 2015 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office arrested Dale Lee Hines (59) of Angels Camp at the local McDonalds on Hwy 49.

   Hines was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for allegedly Personating someone else to get property or money, a felony.

You're in Mountain Lion Country

       Mountain Lions have always lived here in the foothills, but the more we human encroach upon their habitat, the more encounters we will have, even though they avoid humans like the plague.

       Two reports have been made in the last month, according to Angels Camp Police, about sightings of Mountain Lions. They mainly go after deer, but will kill and eat goats if you put them in their back yard.

    If you insist on having goats in Mountain Lion country, you should at least bring them into a barn and lock them up at night.

Collision in Copperopolis

   December 11, 2015 at 8:15 AM:  A car reportedly swerved to miss a deer and ran off Hwy 4 near Telegraph Road in Copperopolis.

   Emergency responders are en route to the scene. Use extra caution if in the area.

Chains required on Hwy 4

     December 11, 2015 at 8 AM: Per Caltrans, snow chains are required on all vehicles without 4 wheel drive above Murphys.

   Drive carefully if headed up to the mountains.
