Explosions in Arnold

   On December 12, 2015 the Calaveras Sheriff received reports from a resident on Moran Road and on Saint Moritz Drive that they heard three explosions around 1:55 AM.

   The Sheriff's Office took no report of the incidents.  At 10:15 AM illegal shooting was also reported on Moran.   Then around 7:15 PM more reports of shots fired or explosions were reported on Moran, Saint Moritz and Ponderosa in Arnold.

Car overturned into creek on Hwy 49

   December 14, 2015 at 2:40 PM:  CHP is still at the scene of a car that rolled off Hwy 49 near Electra near the Calaveras/Amador county line, and into the creek, trapping a woman.

   Major injuries have been reported. Be extra cautious as they attempt to retrieve the vehicle from the water.


Car overturned on Hwy 88

   December 14, 2015 at 2:35 PM:  A car has reportedly overturned on Hwy 88 at Hamms Station in El Dorado County.

   Emergency personnel are en route to the scene. Be careful if in the area.

Traffic Collision in Double Springs

   According to CHP records, on December 12, 2015 at approximately 7:34 AM Marshall Biondi (17) of Valley Springs was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer westbound on Double Springs Road

Collision on Hwy 49

  Per CHP  on December 14, 2015 at 6:40 AM Rita K. Linker (46) of Altaville was driving a 2006 Toyota northbound on Hwy 49 near Fourth Crossing at approximately 55 MPH.

Middleton's involved in Asphalt Plant?

   At the December 10, 2015 Calaveras Planning Commission meeting the person who represented Ford Construction (the Rancho Calaveras Asphalt Plant) identified himself as JERRY MIDDLETON.

   Does Jerry Middleton run the Asphalt Plant?  Do the Middletons have ownership in the Ford Company's Asphalt Plant? Middleton reportedly told one person no new hires would result from the asphalt plant.


Douglas K. Sutherland of San Andreas

   April 25, 1939 - December 8, 2015

   Doug Sutherland, 76, of San Andreas, passed away on December 8, 2015 of natural causes following a battle with cancer.
