Sprirt Bear gets protection

Such a wondrous creature! And
most believed it was a Native
American superstition!
While California CalFire and California Fish and Wildlife continue to try and eliminate all wildlife, in our opinion, Canada is doing something to protect it.

This is the Spirit Bear, a species of Black Bear, who lives in the Great Bear Rainforest of Canada.  Congratulations to Canada.  When, if ever, will California ever be protected from the government trying to destroy the forest and wildlife.

Groundhog Day US

This photo was taken by the National Park Service of a groundhog going about his business, eating a flower.

The Groundhog Day debacle in Pennsylvania, where they drag some poor groundhog out of his hole for publicity, is cruel and should be banned.

Finally made public

We asked Metzger whose
land this work is being
performed on. Are these
people volunteers as had
been publicized.
This morning we received a press release from Joel Metzger of CCWD that they have donated $ 5000 to Calaveras Grown for spreading hay on certain properties

Traffic collision on Hwy 4

UPDATE at 12 Noon:  This has finally been cleared by CHP and now report there were no injuries.

UPDATE:  You are absolutely correct about POOLE Station Road

Clinton and Sanders tie! Cruz wins!

In what must have been a long evening for Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders was within just a few votes of her and they ended in a virtual tie after the caca-sing (and the Democratic procedure is just a bunch of caca) in Iowa.

On the Republican side, Ted Cruz beat out Trump and Rubio was a close third. And now on to New Hampshire.

Two traffic collisions on Hwy 99

February 2, 2016 at 8:40 AM:  CHP is responding to two traffic collisions on Hwy 99 near Liberty Road in the Galt area.

One is northbound and one is southbound. It isn't known if look-e-loo-ing was partially responsible or not. Four tow trucks have been dispatched to the scene. Be extra careful if headed in that direction.

Amador County pot dealer killed

According to authorities in South Lake Tahoe, an Amador County couple came to a motel on the strip to sell 100 lbs of marijuana.

Reports indicate that several parties came and went to the room and then shots were fired just outside the room. Dennis Michael Wright, Jr. (40) was killed and the woman with him was injured.

Snow in Murphys

February 2, 2016 at 8 AM:  It is lightly snowing on Hwy 4 in Murphys this morning and chain controls are up just above Forest Meadows.

We are told it is coming down hard in Arnold, so be cautious if you are needing to drive anywhere this morning.
